      hey everybody

Hey guys and girls, just figured I'd take a thread to introduce myself...

I'm Bryan and I'm really interested in what dreams mean, and Lucid dreaming. I've been trying to work on lucid dreaming but never really got too far for various reasons. I'm a college student in New York at the moment.

Call me crazy, but I do, on occasion have dreams about events that sometimes show me what is going to happen within the next 24/48 hours... and 9/10 times it actually does. It's usually for small stuff like getting a bad grade on a test Or something, but other times it has been car accidents, random phone calls from people who haven't spoken to me In years... it's on and off lately though. Most of my dreams are just symbolic and I've been using a dictionary for interpreting specific symbols.

So, I look forward to posting and getting to know some of you very soon

Oh and I apologize in advance for any insane typos and/or random punctuation in posts- I DO know the english language, I just don't have a working computer at the moment, so I'm stuck using my phone which doesn't always work well on Forums. Thanks

      Welcome to DV!

Dreams can indeed be very mysterious, just don't let it get to the point that they rule your life and your choices. If you're wondering about something, don't hesitate to ask!

      Hi Bryan! Welcome!

That's really interesting, what you said about dreaming about the future. Premonitions, huh? That sounds awesome.

Don't forget to check out the Beyond Dreaming section of the forums, I'm sure you will find lots of interesting threads there too, with regards to precognitie dreams and such.

      Good luck!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

      Welcome to the forum, Bryan!

Don't worry too much about spelling...we don't grade here.

Write some of those dreams down in a notebook or the online dream journal system here. You can really learn a lot abour recurring symbols and if you use the online system you can add searchable tags. It really comes in handy when trying to remember old dreams and find common elements.

See you around the forum and pleasant dreams!

      Welcome Bryan!

I have had several dreams like the ones you have experienced. Pretty eerie..

Anyway I recommend you check out the beginners guide to lucid dreaming. It goes over the basics and gives some helpful links around the site.

Good luck getting into it, and hope to see you around! if you have questions, just ask.

      Welcome

It's seems like more and more people starting to get open for the paranormal, it's a good sign. Thanks for sharing your precognitve dream experience I would love to discuss it in the Beyond dreaming section I don't think it's crazy at all, lucid dreaming was once considered impossible, today it is "almost" full science, I guess it's still percieved as pseudo-science among people until they experience it themselves. So some day precognitve dreams might get accepted as well. In fact intuition is starting to get accepted, I have no idea how but some neuro scientist say "We don't know HOW it works, but we know THAT it works." xD so science is starting to get more and more open to it as well

      Sweet precognitve dreams!

Ah yes, precognitive dreams happen quite a lot to me, too. It's more common than you would think. Thing is, I never really remember mine until whatever it is I've dreamed actually does happen in real life. This could be from anything to me being in Wal-Mart, or me writing a note back in the middle of class. Heck, even one--last week--I was in my Creative Writing class, and a friend of mine turned around and smiled at me. "I dreamed this!" As I said it, I even remembered saying "I dreamed this!" in my dream, too. Funny how that happens.

I really, really suggests that your only dream journal be online. As you get up, neurons immediately start to fire off in your brain, which causes you to forget so many details. I suggest that you keep a notepad or something near where you wake up, along with a writing utensil, so that you can write down key events/details/people/whatever in your dream. If you still want to write online (and it's fun--I do suggest it, as long as this isn't your first place to go to), then you can take your notepad and expand what you remember from your dream.
      ~ until the very end
