Hi!
Hi. I'm Olivia. I'm currently 15 years young and a happy student and person =D
But of course, there's a reason I'm here just like everyone else.
Ever since I was 11, I've been having nightmares/terrors(?) about creatures..zombies to be more detailed chasing me or me surviving a infection outbreak. I'm very new to lucid dreaming and haven't tried it yet, I'm preparing to maybe try it tonight however. I'm going to be posting a few topics on how these dreams go down and hopefully get some advice on how to stop them, because to be honest with everyone, I'm terrified.
It's a pleasure to meet you all and actually be able to work and be here. Thank you. ^_^

Hi welcome to dreamviews! For the zombies and stuff if you become lucid you can say something like stop! This is my dream and I am in control. Or something like that.

:welcome: Olivia!
Eeek zombies! D:
I highly recommend reading this above all else: http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-124786/ as it contains the basic information about lucid dreaming. Start up a dream journal as soon as you can, and try to put in any dreams you can remember once you wake up. If you can't remember anything at first, that's fine, just keep trying anyway. The more you do that, the more your brain realizes that it is important to you, and soon enough you'll be recalling more dreams :) You have to build up your dream recall first, after all, what's the point of having a lucid dream if you can't remember it, right? ;)
As for the zombies nightmares, try do some mantras before bed like "I will dream about _________" , and visualize what you want to dream if you can. Btw, what do you think is causing these nightmares? Did you have some traumatic movie experience before, or anything like that? I understand how terrifying it must be. Just keep in mind that they can't hurt you, and that it's all a dream. Soon, when you start lucid dreaming for real, you will be able to turn those nightmares into pleasant dreams where you can do anything you want.
If you need anything, feel free to ask! :D See ya around.

Welcome to the forum!
If you have any more of those nightmares I suggest posting here: Nightmares and Recurring Dreams
It may take some time to learn lucid dreaming skills and for them to become habitual but the efforts can pay off. Writing down your dreams is likely the best effort you can start with.
The DreamGuides above have good advice, heed it well. :)
Pleasant dreams!

It really sucks that you've been having such problems with your dreams, and I hope that lucid dreaming can help you out. :) Good luck!

You are in the right place :D Hopefully you can become more comfortable with your dreams and learn to remember the good dreams along with the nightmares. You can even become lucid and confront the nightmares directly.
