new to dreamscape
Well i just made this account. Im relitivly new to the whole lucid dreaming thing and its only happened a few times. I tried skipping most of the basic techniques and going straight to wild.
Unfortunately, that didnt work and hasnt so far. Ive also kept a dream journal for over a month without finding any dream signs. I even tried reality checks but i just dont remember to do them! I even tried marking my palm but that also didnt work.
Anyway thats a synopsis of my dreaming story. But anyway glad to be on the site.

Welcome ShadowSlay3r32 ;)
I also started out with the WILD first and yeah... even though you can start out with it and practise in a controled manner and teach yourself, well if you are beginner that is not very likely to happen.
I have a view of steps and wholes when it comes to lucid dreaming. There is a way for you to find the exact actions that you need to do in order to get lucid, but if you become dependent on these steps and don't try understand the big picture of what awareness is, then it will not be a natural process and one will miss out many things along the way.
So my apporach is finding my steps (which I have, but it's subjective experience so one have to find one's steps on his/her own)
Then when I got all the steps I try to look at the whole, what is it that all theses steps have in common? For lucid dreaming it's usually awareness.
An example of how this perspective of steps and wholes can be useful:
Realize that everything in the world is ONE and that seeing duality in things isn't always the best.
Our goal is to be aware of DREAMS which is a whole perspective, but then we try to break down what a dream is in parts, which according to me is (subconscous, memories and emotions).
So now when we know that we also know that: To be aware of one's dreams is the same thing to say to be aware of the (subconscious, memories and emotions.)
And this is basically the goal of meditation so I started practise that and realized that I can fall asleep and be aware of my dreams.
This was an exampe of when it's good to look at parts here is an example when it's better to look at wholes (well atleast more useful):
People look at an succesful attempt as normal-dream or lucid dream and they crave for the last one of course.
But this duality perspective isn't very useful, because this makes people not appreciate one's normal dreams. And this is not good because normal-dreams and lucid dreams are the same thing they are DREAMS. And it's not the dream itself one is after it's the awareness of the dream! So the goal should be awareness and not a lucid-dream.
But awareness can occur in normal dreams as well, if you wasn't aware of them how else would you remember them? So instead of going from step A to G try to go from little awareness (step A) to a little more awareness like perhaps remember experiencing something that should trigger full lucidity (step B) and then progress.
(I have a system of Layers in my dream journal that you can check out).
Ok this turned out to be a long post... But I hope it have helped you ;) Here is another wall of text that describes my mindset of lucid dreaming:
