Hi there Dreamers~

Hi there everyone..I been interested in the world of dreams long time before..I'll always question myself whether it is possible to explore the world of dreams..Seems like weird at 1st..But guess that I'm not the only one :lol: I am very interested in the lucid dreams and I've done lots of reading about it ever since..I also been doing some research about the OBE because it's a common with the society at my place..It just that it always misunderstood with spirits or supernatural stuff..That is why I want to understand more about it in a more logical matter..I know that I can learn a lots of more over here..And hopefully exploring my dreams (lucid) will no longer merely a dream ;)

Dreams are definitely explorable and it might of course be hard to believe that it is possible, but when you experience one yourself you don't only believe but you KNOW it is possible.
It's the same for OBEs however in order to verify it is indeed an experience beyond previous life experiences, you need to attain information in the experience that can do so for you.
But it's not just enough to experience it one or two times, it has to be repeated in a scientific manner in order to be fully verified.

My biggest goal is to accomplish something like this, although for now it is just a belief of mine. But I a very stong belief because my friend who didn't even knew about this phenomena have experienced it. And his descriptions of his experience is spot on to the description of an OBE.

In my dream journal you find different entries about my view of OBEs, meditation and many other things. So if you are interested you can check it out and it might be able to help you. ;)

Actually I've been told or hear from known or unknown people (specially my family) about their sleeping experience before..A situation where they are aware of their surrounding and hear every sound while sleeping..But cannot move their body (sleep paralysis maybe)..Not to forget the appearance of entity, spirits etc..My brother for examples usually sleep around 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning..after a while he will hear a lots of noise or voices and he can saw someone with a long hair try to choke him up..It will usually happen several times in a month and it really disturbing his sleep :P ..It's a common thing in our society but its a taboo to talk about it..They believe that it usually happen because lack of spiritual involvement in life..But for me they just experience the OBE it just they never or don't really know about it..To be honest..I've never experience the OBE in my whole life before..Not even once and I am afraid that it will be hard for me to achieve my lucid dreams :(

I will take my time to read about your OBE and thanks for sharing it..Hopefully I can help my brother or even anyone in my society..To understand more that it just only an OBE and there is no harm in that..Maybe I will have my 1st experience of OBE too..I am looking forward for that :lol:

Tell them to not fear their experience. Nothing in the OBE or dreaming world can hurt them or kill them.

Actually tell them to welcome the evil spirits and entities, because if they can't hurt them, where is the rationality of fearing them at all then? Then it's more lika fobia, but instead of being afraid of a snake or a spider they are fearing the unknown. In my eyes the unknown is a beautiful thing, because if you can make it known you can learn something new. :)
I once had a dream where I saw a scary hooded man standing in a corner, I was lucid in this dream so I was currious. I thought to myself "well I know it can't hurt me and I wonder who this person might be". So I actually approached him and removed the hood and saw my friend Martin in it and realized that it wasn't anything scary or dangerous.

I didn't knew what this experience ment by then, but I do now.

But if this person had been something else and provided me with information beyond my previous knowledge like saying "Your friend Sara will die in 2 months in cancer".
And then two months later I'll hear that Sara had died without me even talking or seeing or suspecting cancer before, then this being something more than a dream is more plausible.

But tell them to embrace their fears and grow and learn from it. :meditate:

What you brother is experiencing - the noise, voices, sounds - are hypnagogic hallucinations (HH). These happen, when you body is already falling asleep, but your mind is till awake, so you notice strange sensations and hallucinations that you normally would not notice.

They can be startling, especially if you not ready for them and you don't know what's happening. But they are all completely harmless, they can not hurt you in any way. They could be a sign that you are entering into a lucid dream. If you train your mind to stay awake just a little longer, you will enter a dream in which you are aware that it's a dream. You can then go and have fun - 1000 things to do in lucid dream.

There are two main techniques how to enter lucid dream.
1. WILD - when your mind stays awake while your body falls asleep, untill a dream forms and you enter it without losing awareness.
2. DILD - when you go to sleep normally and while you having regular dream, you will realize that you are dreaming.

Please check out this Beginner's guide. I would recommend to start with DILD technique. But your brother could try the WILD.

I am still wondering whether OBE is obtain naturally or its a skill to learn..But I've read it before in some web sites that the chances of experiencing the OBE is higher while doing the WILD technique..Why did others experience it a lot and some other don't :? and for most it just like trapping in their body still lying on the bed..Even when there is somebody around..My friend tell me before that when it happen..He try to shout calling for his friends but no body seems to care..Is it possible that for them in reality that he is already sleeping without anything happened?
What more is it possible to experience the OBE while sit on the chair and daydreaming? There is a situation when one of my friend saw some one try to choke her..She try to fight and scream but she cannot move and no voices is out from her mouth..After a while she realize that she is still sitting on the chair and the entities is no where to be found..She is wondering whether its real or she already fallen a sleep for a while :)

Is OBE is considered as lucidity? Apart from the dream world..the brain just project the image of the room and they are actually dreaming? Or is the OBE is the gate way to being lucid and after overcoming the trapped in body experience you can start to explore the rest of the awakening state?

I personally believe, that OBEs and LDs are different. But that's true, that the way you can enter into a WILD lucid dream or into OBE is very similar. I think, that for a lucid dream you need to be asleep, but for OBE, you don't.

But then there are also HH - the hallucinations. These come while you falling asleep, so this can happen when you sitting on a chair and you just sleepy, close your eyes for a moment, but you not asleep yet. Sometimes is hard to tell, when the HH ended and dream started.

The best would be to read as much as you can about both. It's easier to understand some things after you try them on your own. You will find more information about OBEs in Beyond draming. :alien:

I believe that lucid dreaming can correctly be called an Out of Body Experience, well we are consciousness and when we dream it is moved from where it usually are but to our dreaming mind.
So it's a shift in focus of consciousness which is in my eyes and OBE or perhaps a better term would be Inner Mind experience since the consciousness is still in the mind and body, but shifted compared to waking life awareness.

What I associate the term OBE with when I hear it though is an experience beyond previous knowledge, like seeing your friend doing something and then be able to verify it the next morning.
This is called an OBE in the RTZ (Real Time Zone) In other words moving just your consciousness without the physical body in the physical world, which is a very spritual belief but I believe it because my friend have experienced it. And well I of course want to know it is true as well, so that's why I lucid dream to see if there is a way to convert an OBE experience within the mind to an experience outside the mind.

But I hope this gives you a new interesting perspective of the term OBE. ;)

Why is the OBE is differ from one person to another? Is it connected with the sleeping habit or awareness in life? As I said I've never experience it in my whole life before..But for some (even if they do not do the WILD) they still experience it naturally even if they don't want to..Some of my friend can experience it only after a few minutes after lying on their bed..It actually can be scary specially when you're losing control of your body and feel like choked, hard to breath etc..One of them experience it almost every night and its kind of disturbing specially when he is calling us in his sleep (in a weird voice) begging us to wake him up..Is it a way to stop the OBE or you have to play with the flow?

It's possible that we are talking about different things.

OBE is out of body experience. Something like astral projection, or even WILD lucid dream. It's when one of your subtle bodies leaves your sleeping body. You may or may not be aware of this happening.

What you are mentioning is difficulty to breathe, possible paralysis - when you can't move. That is not OBE. Those could be signs of falling asleep and possible sleep paralysis, also called REM attonia. It would be best, if you searched these terms on google and compare your experiences to description online. Hope this helps.
