Losing my lucidity
Hi everyone im new to this site but ive been checking it out for about a week now. Well i had my first lucid dream last night, i was in my old house doin something and realized tht i had to be dreaming. So i said to myself "I must be dreaming". I dropped everything i did and went outside, and i changed the seen from night to day, but for some reason i lost vision in my left eye then my right eye. I had to still be lucid but i could not open my eyes at all.
Any ideas what tht was?

Hi wannabelucid! ^_^ Glad you decided to join us.
To answer your question, I think it might have something to do with your dream fading away and you being 'stuck' somewhere between waking and sleeping or sleeping and deeper sleep. Many people struggle to keep their LDs to last, and not wake up or lose lucidity (due to excitement, or other things). Some people wake up instantly, others (like me) tend to have a 'fade away'/'black out'. Things slowly grow black and for a moment you are stuck in this (you cant see, but you're still dreaming, it's just all black). This also happens when you go into a deeper stage of sleep, first it gets black and white, and finally entirely colorless (black).
You might start out by not controlling anything your first few LDs. Not controlling your environment (just exploring) brings more stability and helps you get used to the dream. And in the future when you become lucid, don't instantly start controlling, first let yourself 'settle in' .
I hope that helps :)

Hiya, Wannabe, and welcome to DreamViews!
Congrats on having your first LD! Now that you know what it feels like, hopefully you will begin to have more.
I can't really say that I know what happened with your vision, unless you were starting to wake up. Closing onex eyes in a dream will often make one wake up, so perhaps you were seeing the first effects of the waking process when your dream vision went away.

Yea i think both of u guys were right i think tht maybe i was too excited tht i finally became lucid tht i lost my lucidity. Thanks for your advice i will look try to remember them tonight when i sleep.
Another question i have is I'm here on the site and keep seeing WILD, DILD, HIT, etc. I've read about all of them and understand what they are, but when i try them it doesn't really work out for me. I dont know but i can't seem to fall asleep or see any images with these things. Anybody know a way to help u fall asleep faster?
Thanks for all your help

Mainly you just need to make sure you are relaxed. Some people like to excercise before going to bed, or maybe taking a warm bath could help.
When you are lying in bed, try to relax your entire body by contracting then relaxing all your muscles, starting with your feet and working up to your face. Also, try concentrating on you breathing -- take slow, deep breaths, and with each one, count a number, or repeat one your MILD mantras.
