Giving this another show - Advice welomed!
Greetings fellow dreamers!
I attempted dream control about 2-3 years ago, and was even a member of this website. (It has really improved since then!). I made good progress in those days however I had several issues that led me to stop attempting dream control. I have decided to give this another shot, I was on a lot of drugs at the time and believe that might have had something to do with it. I am sober/clean now, so with a pure mental state want to give it another try.
The issues I had before:
1. Sleep Paralysis. I would often realize I was dreaming, but find that I couldn't move. I would always still be in bed, but unable to move or wake up. I would become terrified, and sometimes other creatures would be there as well. (Like terrifying dogs around my bed). It would take a LOT of work to wake up from these dreams, and often I would dread falling back to sleep because I would often go right back into the same problem.
2. When I was not suffering from paralysis I would still be unable to control the dream. I could move around freely, and have some free thought although it seemed like my judgement was "clouded". Attempts to change the setting all failed, and I never was able to encounter any other humans. For some reason the three times I had full control I did not act like myself. One of the times I decided since I was dreaming, I could kill someone. I got a knife from the kitchen and began looking for someone to kill. This HIGHLY disturbed me as I never have had any thoughts of hurting another human being. I do watch a lot of horror movies so maybe that was influencing my subconcious. The third time I had control, I attempted to fly and was somewhat successful, this one positive experience is enough to have me now coming back for more :)
