      Guess I should say "Hi"...

      Hello all!
New here, although I have seen a few posters here I know(by name only) from the psipog IRC channel. I probably won't be very active, and might even forget about this site, but who knows?
I would consider myself a novice to lucid dreaming, but mainly because I just don't really choose to alter my dreams...
I first heard of the concept a few years back, God onyl knows where, and have been following up on little tidbits of it ever since. One of the things that I am most interested in right now is group/collective dreaming or 'entering' someone's dreams.[useless backstory on why] Mainly because of a girl I know. She knows a rather advanced practitoner of the psionic arts, and suposidly he enters her dreams and they have conversations that they continue by phone or over IMs the next day... Seeing as I am the only person she knows who has any intrest at all in the paranormal she told me about this and asked how he did it. So that led me to this endevour, and so far the results match my first thoguths on the matter...[/useless backstory on why]
Question: I read some sort of Lucid dreaming challenge in one section of this forum and just had to ask, why are there so few replys? To me it seems like it would be pretty easy for anyone even t3h uber n00bzors to 'yell' their name. Of course I could just be taking my native level of lucidity for granted. XD

On my dreams: I don't really have much of a problem attaining a lucid state in my dreams. I usally choose not to do anything though, and just go with the flow. I use my dreams to adventure Dungeons and Dragons style. ^__^ Only time I ever interfer is if something starts to go bad, for instance, one night we had just gotten some really phat lewt from an old cave... on the outside waiting was a great dragon... He slashed through my poor comrades like a knife through air. I mentally yelled stop, so time stopped . Then kinda reversed it and set things the way I wanted them to be. Just things like that, that's about all I do. Back when I first learned of lucid dreamign and tried it, I made a room like the matrix and just started to make things etc...
One thing I woudl liek to work on is remebering my dreams a bit better. when I first awake from them I can remeber them very vividlybut withing 2-3 hours trying to remeber them becomes liek graspign at straws sometimes.. Any advice on how to improve this would be greatly appreciated. If I work on keeping them in my mind of course I can usally kind of imprint them there, but that takes more work then I am usally willing to put in on the way into school in the morning.

      hi, welcome to the board.

Congratulations on your lucid ability, i wish i could do that!
You say you can remember your dreams, but that two or three hours later you struggle to remember them. Well, that's normal, because reality kicks in and life gets in the way.
The best piece of advice i can offer you is to start keeping a dream journal. When you wake up in the morning, write down whatever you can remember. At first, it might be hazy, until your brain gets used to making a conscious effort to remember. This doesn't matter. Just write down whatever you remember, even if it's only an emotion.
As you get used to writing them down, within a couple of weeks you should begin to see dreamsigns, which are elements in a dream which tell you that you are dreaming.
For more information, check out the attaining lucidity, dream control, dreamsigns and dream recall section.
      These should help you!
