Hi from Shansey
I actually found this forum when searching for something else, sleep related.
I have had a quick read, but there is lots to take in..so apologies for stating the obvious.
I have always (well for many years) known when I am dreaming by seeing if my feet can lift off the ground. If they do then I know I am dreaming...sometimes I can then do anything I want in the dream and control it from the base of my bedroom...i.e let the house walls fall away or fly out of the window and circle the area,,,and just well feel free to do what I want within the environment that I know.
At other times I just check that I am dreaming (by seeing if I can float upwards)..but have little input into what I can do afterwards.
Anyway..I am sure by reading more on this forum I can develop this...if I have got this right and this is what the forum is about ???
I have also vividly recalled dreams and written then down for many years and been able to return to them (I think) and written poems about them. But I think this isn't what this forum is about??
But more worryingly..I have found for the last year or so I cannot sleep well and I dream too much. I am wondering if this is because I am taking fluexodine (anti depressant). Although this didn't start until about 6-9 months after I started taking it, basically I fall asleep..dream vividly ..wake up (maybe after only 10-60 minutes)..fall asleep dream vividly ..wake up every hour ..and so on and so on. I talk through the night (much to hubby's disdain)...I am aware of talking, but can't stop it...every night is a constant cycle of fall asleep have a vivid dream wake up within an hour ..on and on and on....
I would appreciate any replies to this
Thanks
Shansey

Welcome to DV!
DV is about dreaming in general so you're in the right place. It seems as if you're a natural and have been lucid dreaming for a long time. Many people try really hard to reach where you're at, try to cherish that skill!
As for getting better sleep, I'm not sure I can help you. Exercise and if you're that bothered by waking up in the middle of the night and having loads of dreams then try not to focus on them, that way your recall will slowly fade away.
I suggest you talk to your doctor about not getting any quality sleep if you don't see any results from exercising and perhaps even changing your diet and/or sleeping patterns.
Good luck!

Welcome to Dreamviews! I agree with Matte87, you should consult your doctor with regards to your sleeping troubles. As for the lucid dreaming, make sure to check out http://www.dreamviews.com/introducti...-dreaming.html It contains the basic info on it, as well as some links that might help you out.
Oh, and we have an off-topic area on DV where you can share your artworks, poems, etc : Artists' Corner
Have fun browsing the forum, if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask!
