Sleep Paralisys - What EXACTLY is it?
Hey, this is like my second topic in 10 minutes! Anyway, one night I woke up sometime and my whole body was 'asleep' like your hand falls asleep, you know? My whole body was like that. I couldn't really move, but paralisys never came to my mind. Instead, my arms sort of felt like jelly or an arm with no bone. It didn't hurt - it wasn't even that uncomfortable - just strange.
Then I hear about people who have sleep paralisys - is that what it is? Just your whole body tingling? After 5 minutes or so, I could move, it wasn't very scary, but strange. People haven't described it really well... so maybe I've experienced it before. Please tell me more!
Also... I'm pretty sure but not entirely sure - is DC Dream Character or something? Thanks.

hi, welcome to the board!!
Okay, sleep paralysis is when the mind is conscious, but the body is asleep. It's like a safety mechanism put in by the brain, to stop you 'acting out' your dreams.
I've written a tutorial on it, perhaps you'd like to check it out? here's the link: http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15630
And yes, you are correct, DC stands for dream character. Which is basically a person that appears in your dreams...to me, i've taken it to mean someone that appears on a regular basis.
