First LD
.. and first post, but anyways. So here's the deal:
I'm riding on a skateboard in some kind of alleyway when I hear my own voice inside my head saying: "I'm dreaming." I come to the realization that this is the case. I become lucid, but not completely. My mind responds very slowly and I am only half-aware that I am in a dream. It feels like I have to force ideas into my head. Anyway, I decide that since I am dreaming, I should be able to do whatever I want. I transform myself and the skateboard into miniatures (at least I think I did that, maybe it just happened). I watch them for a while as they float above the ground, then decide to go flying. I take off, looking around. I remember feeling slightly dissapointed, because I do not experience the increased contrast/colours phenomenom that I have read about. I fly along, but at some point it becomes very difficult to fly forwards and I come to a halt. I wake up. The whole thing probably lasted about 30 seconds in its entirety. Although I was not 100% lucid this was kind of interesting, I think, especially considering that I have never done any kind reality checks neither awake or dreaming.
... hello everyone! :)

Hello & Welcome kranak :D
That is great you had a lucid dream.
As a beginner don't get discouraged because to your mind, this is a whole new ball game.
Your conditioned mind has a lot of things to over come a believe.
But as you have more practice you will be able to pick up on more of these subtlies of your dream scene.
Now it is most likley just trying to grasp the whole concept.

I am in no way discouraged, I think it is terribly exciting, as I was not really expecting any lucidity to come my way so soon.. I must confess I have been terribly sloppy with my dream journal so I guess I'm still struggling to get into the habit. Well well, it all comes down to discipline, I presume.. I will keep trying. Thank you :)

Congratulations! And welcome to the community! :-P
As to that color phenomena you read about, keep in mind that all dreamers are different and have different kinds of dreams. Some RCs (reality checks) work for some people, some don't, some people experience sounds during hypnogogia, some people experience vivid images, others feel vibrations. Your dream world is a personal world, one of your own and its amazing getting to know it, especially with LDs. Dream Journaling helps a lot with that too
