      Hi!

I'm excited to join the forums, finally

I'm 23 and started lucid dreaming in middle school (by accident). Since then I've been practicing and treating it like a hobby. These days I lucid dream probably about 60% of the time, which is much better (but never good enough!), and that's only because I've gotten better at recognizing my dream signs. If I don't see a dream sign though, I usually don't become lucid. I'd like to reach a point where I can use WILD techniques to go right into them and not have to wait!

      Here's some more about me:

      Favorite parts about lucid dreaming:
-I used to not be good at flying in dreams, and now after practicing I'm quite the Peter Pan, lol
-I've flown over locations and lands that are so breathtakingly beautiful I don't know how my brain thought of them. I would never see such things irl
-I get to try new things, like flying helicopters or time traveling.
      -Fewer scary dreams.

      My dreamsigns:
Tornadoes (or storms or very weird skies)
      Bathrooms
Exiting from inside a building to a large outdoor space
      Flying or falling
      Trains

      Struggles / Challenges
-I need to get lucid sooner. This morning my alarm woke me up right after I became lucid and it was very frustrating.
-I lose lucidity if I get too involved with the story or what other DCs are doing.
-Getting to bed soon enough so I get a good night's sleep

That's all I can think of to say, look forward to perusing the forums and getting to know everyone

Welcome, glad to have you here! You seem to be quite an experienced dreamer!
      On your problems:
      1. You can try to get to bed earlier. If you get enought sleep, you might even wake before the alarm. Feels great! You need to sacrifice some of your nighttime life though.
      2. Just work on it! You will get better. Make sure to stabilize the dream aswell also.
      3. Number one, again

Once again, welcome. I'm sure you will enjoy it here! Lots of friendly people around, always willing to lend a helping hand!

      Hey Piggy

I enjoyed reading your detailed post, seems like you take your hobby seriously and it's great to see your dedication
I just wonder why someone has trains as their dream sign...I have buses! Only one bus company though....jeez, I'm picky even with my dream signs 0o

I also love flying, tbh I tend to waste many lucids just flying around, especially around cities it's soo fun...feeling the cold air as you go up and up. And then the feeling of speed. Or just slow and lazy flying near the ground...ahh so addicting xD

Anyway, welcome to Dreamviews, hope to see you around

Trains and airplanes are making more appearances these days for some reason. I've never seen a bus in my dream (that I can remember). Usually it's just regular cars, like if I'm the one driving.

I like to fly in my dreams too, it's easy to just want to do that the whole time. I get distracted in my dreams really easily because I get hooked on something cool and forget to explore or see what else is out there.

Anywho, thanks for saying hi you guys, it's nice to know other people do this too!

Hey Piggy! I too often lose lucidity a lot because I get caught up talking to DC's. I think that it's just amazing that they're part of me and my imagination is making them up, so I have to talk to them. I feel like if I do I'm talking to my inner-self. xD. I think I can help with some of your problems with it, though. These probably won't be that good of answers but I just felt like I should try to help a new member out!

      1. For the alarm clock waking you up, if you are able to, just wake up naturally. That way you'll be in the dream for as long as your body wants you to be, and by that time you'll probably have a good amount of things done. If you have to use an alarm clock because you have work or anything like that, try to go to sleep sooner so you'll be asleep for a longer time.

      2. I struggle with talking to DCs a lot too, as I have already said. I've gotten better with it though, because I often try to incorporate the fact that I'm dreaming into the conversations. Not by flat out telling them that they're not real, because the one time I've done that I got screamed at by my Dream Dad, just try to talk about dreams with them, that way the subject will remain on dreams. Tell them about a cool thing you've done in a lucid dream, etc..

      3. You could try to do some exercises before you go to sleep. Just 5 minutes of doing pushups, planks, and sit-ups will get you tired, I guarantee it. That way you will fall asleep a lot quicker.

(Btw, all of these correspond with your struggles, like the first one is answered in number 1. I know that's pretty obvious but I just wanted to make sure )

I too, have walking into large open spaces as one of my dreamsigns. Don't worry, WILD is really easy once you get the hang of it. Anyway, welcome to the forums!
