Ok, so In order to become lucid you must practice reality checking,
I understand how to do it in real life, but if you are dreaming, how can you check if your not lucid in the first place? :huh2:

The theroy is that you will become so used to doing them that you will do them in your dreams. YOu have to make it a second nature habbit so the act will carry over from your waking life into your dream one.
Reality checking isn't the only way to become lucid. I have the same issue -- I can never remember to do a RC unless I'm already partly lucid, so for me, it's just a confirmation that I'm dreaming once I already suspect that I am.
Check out the Tutorials section. Personally I've had the most success using the MILD and WBTB methods.
Every night before I go to sleep after my HILD I say to myself " if you are not in your bed your are dreaming" and I suppose this is a way of telling your brain to do a reality check right? Well I have been doing my HLID for a while now and it has worked about twice from when I joined this site. Is there a way to make my HILD'S work better?
you dont have to practice reality checking, it is just one way of becoming lucid .. but if you doo it enough in real wakeing life then it becomes a habbit that will transpher over to the dream world... the only problem with reality checks is some people including my self have all to real dreams and that during real wakeing life when they do a reality check they pass it off any ways ...Quote:
