hi
this looks like a good site to be on so i'd like to stay/post around the place. i know what basics i need to work on to improve, and i will be working hard on these simple things. i am not a crazy zealot.. not true raswalt, you can be... i am open to new knowledge and ideas and if i happen to conjure lucidity in the nighthours i may share it if theres a helpful method, or if i make a dream log on the site.
currently i have been in sleep dep for an hour shy of 2 days, this time, (aware of negative affects,) and i think i've set myself in a good position to dream lucid if i remember to meditate before sleep.
..yea so i feel good about this. good night.

Welcome Raswalt, nice to meet you :)
Yup, we're the biggest lucid dreaming community in the world! The good thing is that knowledge spreads like fire in the internet, so when it comes to information like new techniques, everyone seems to eventually hear about them. Most of the times it's good, but some times it can create inconvenient myths like sleep paralysis, which Dreamviews works hard to demystify.
Good luck with your lucidity induction tonight, with all that REM rebound you'll have an advantage over WILD or MILD. If you got any questions just post them away :D

killer. thanks!
hm and you know what, might hold onto that REM a while longer because these bats, spiders, and faces i'm perceiving are getting much more real every few hours, which makes for great RCs.
going for a night walk. talk later DV.

Welcome to the forum Raswalt!
I don't often hear about people attempting things with that big a period of REM Rebound but I'd certainly like to know if you have any luck.
I always find a little REM Rebound helps but I've never really tried anything harder than missing out on some sleep from night-to-night before putting in a good WBTB attempt. I hope you get lucid from the attempt.
If you have any questions about techniques or anything just post and someone will answer. There are a lot of good people here.
Pleasant dreams! :)

hi melanieb!
i'll keep this short for now.
my attempt failed in trying for lucidity when i finally went to sleep.
as i said above^ i went on a night walk around the near by lake. this is where all the REM payed off for me in WL.
the moon was out/ i looked at it- focused on it, and as my focus rose, a bright ring of light closed around the moon on both sides and the moon, would drop down from the clouds as if in suspension as i seemed to be drawing it out of the clouds.
it was at about 3:30/4:00 in the morning and the whole walk/night felt like more and more like a dream closing around reality.
with that much REM working on my senses in the dark of night, things i thought of- appeared, and what i thought was reality- disintegrated.
i've actually gained a lasting clarity after this experience of "tasting my neurosoup" you may say, and now my focus is on the the ominous moon in WL.. its something to see and think about weather day/night to wager the possibility of lucidity.
anyways i'll look further into this sleep dep and see if i can use it better and also if it can help anyone else... hm, maybe its best use is to incubate an all day WL dream sign, a sign to be found during sleep dep, different for each... i found the moon. haha
used with the all day awareness technique (the technique that brought me to this great site,) it could be useful.. at least for me.
ok too much ranting from me, i'll come back to this when i have more results.
- the dream i had after was quite vivid though by the way.
