I re-discovered Dreamviews, and decided to come back for good !

      Hello,

Today is a good day ! As you can see, I'm registered on this website since January 2008... and only have one message.

The reason is simple : Back then, I discovered lucid dreaming for a mysterious reason that I can't remember now, but I'm sure it involved random interesting readings and link-following on the Internet, since it's something that eats-up most of my spare time !
I remember that I was so excited about this new thing : controlling my dreams seemed like the perfect entertainment and mental-skill to learn.

So I read everything I could to get the basic knowledge and principles, and started "practicing", but with studies etc. I didn't really got into it "seriously". I once tried to keep a "dream journal", but it ended up with only 2 or 3 written dreams... then I must have stumbled upon another "omg so interesting stuff" (yeah, I'm interested in pretty much everything, you could say it's almost an handicap >.< ), and forgot about LD for a time. And when it came back to my thought, it was already too late, I lost motivation and paused for too long.

Since then, I've had some periods when I thought about Lucid Dreaming when talking about it with friends, and that I should read again some material, maybe come back to Dreamviews but... eh, busy life.
I even had ONE (and only :/) Lucid Dream that was totally unvoluntary. I was dreaming about a "carnival" (sorry for my bad english, I'm not sure this is the right word), where I drove a bumper car. Then suddenly the car left its "terrain" and I drove it along the car road. And this is when I realised:
"-Heyy... but WAIT. That is NOT possible. !? I must be dreaming [...] YEAH, I am dreaming, and I know it \o/, OMG I can do everything I waaaant". But I was so happy about becoming lucid that I wake up after 10 seconds at most ! Such a shame. But I was happy that I had my first LD.
      Then... busy life again :/
But I was sure that one day, I'll get into it for real !

And this day has come !

Since I have a job as a programmer for 3 months, I had some bad nights (lot of waking up during the nights), and it happened to be a good thing, because I remembered a lot of my dreams.
And yesterday, after seeing a video about the explanation of final-scene of Inception, I remembered about this "sleeping mask" called Remee that I saw on Kickstarter and decided to search for reviews. I must say I was a bit disappointed, it doesn't seem to be worth the 100$+shipping to Europe
So here I am, back to the good old inductions techniques tutorials . And this time, it's decided, and it's the reason of this looooong and useless message : I will not stop trying after 3 days, and practice until I have consistent Lucid Dreams

So, enough said ! If you think I'm right and that I should stick to it... advice me any source of motivation and success that helped you, and I'd be glad to participate in this forum, howeved small my contribution is
For now, I'll start lurking everything I can find in the Introduction zone and elsewhere to start on the right track

PS: a question for moderators. Could it be possible to change my username on the forum ? This one is an oooold (and ugly) nickname that I no longer use.

You can change your username by going to Community Hall on the top navigation bar, or from your account page. Then go to Market and choose Username.

      And BIG welcome back!

I went to my profile page and searched everywhere, but indeed, I did not understand what was the purpose of the "Community Hall".
Sounds like a fun addition to the website, as I don't remember seeing this back when I registered here

Here, look at this picture. If you go through the top navigation button to community hall and then you click on tab "market", then on next page, on the left side you will see "username". Clicking on that, you will see on right side you can click on change your username. Please let me know, if you have problem with that.

Yeah yeah, sorry if I was unclear. I had no problem finding it after your first message !

I just said when I first saw "Community Hall" in my user profile I wondered what purpose served these levels etc. But now I know
Thanks again for helping "new" - and retuning - people !

Yeah, sorry for that. I felt embarassed that you did such efforts for nothing (and that's not a joke :p haha).

Ok, I will ! I think that I'll start by reading some tutorials for a few days (don't have much time), then apply what I learn. If I have some time to wander in the forum and find some interesting subject, I won't hesitate to participate
Then maybe someday I'll be able to post my own lucid dreams, or help other people !
Thank you for the advice. I also saw the DV Academy which seems great :-)

      Thanks.

Good news, another night with good dream recall of my last dream (interrupted by alarm clock), and a strange sensation in the middle of the night (but I don't remember well because I was so tired that I got back to bed after going to toilet without really waking up lol). I think I was dreaming but woke up because of my bladder... but the voice in my dream (that was giving me some advice or complaint or order) juste became extremely louder and started to scream, and I instantly woke up with an short and intense fear and screamed like "Whoooaa".
I sometimes have nightmares that wake me up and makes me "Aaah" but it's plot common and this time it was... well different and kind of strange and funny when I remember it ^^
But I was so tired that I can't remember if I recalled the dream juste before this or not, and went back to bed, hopping I'll sleep instantaneously, which I did :p

      Thanks !

Right now, I must admit that I could use help with slowing time... there was a party for the 10th aniversary of the company where I work, and I think this night will be short... as I only have 6 hours left until my alarm clock rings . And I'm a big sleeper, I really need my 8 hours - at least - to be fully in a good shape !

Yeah I noticed there are some new but very active members, and other that are here from the beginning ! It's pleasant to see that this forum is still alive and active after so many years . Finally I'll maybe take part in it ^^. I'll try visiting chat anytime soon.

      Well... going to bed !

PS : I finally decided to change my username, even if it costs so many points... I had enough, and this alternation CaPs was... well, a bit ridiculous

      Thank you !

Today I was too tired to begin taking the habit to do RC etc. but I I'll try to be consistent starting tomorrow (I began read some tutorials on RC and DILD, like the long tutorial by Naiya, and another "All Day Awareness" by KingYoshi. I definitely have to try this as soon as possible !)
