Nice to know I'm not crazy

Hi,

Quick story about me. Several years ago I started having dreams, in these dreams I could do what ever I wanted. It felt so real and the dreams happened a few times a week. My father passed away from brain cancer, it was horrible. I thought I had some type of medical condition affecting my brain. I was scared, thinking I had a tumor growing or something wrong inside my head. I finally confided in my best friend. We were talking one night, I just blurted out, "Shane, I think there's something wrong inside my head, maybe a tumor". He asked me what was wrong and I explained all of my dreams and how I always knew I was dreaming. Well, Shane laughed and said you're having lucid dreams. I started to google my experiences and found out I wasn't nuts or sick. My dreams were pretty frequent and I got really good at recognizing when I was dreaming. Then the dreams went away for about a year. Well, now their back and I'm enjoying my lucid dreams.

I'd like to express how happy I am there's other people experiencing this. A couple of nights ago I decided to see my dad again, it was fantastic seeing him. We were so happy to see each other, he's been gone since 2004.

I wanted to pop in and say hi. I'm looking forward to reading about others. There's no one in my personal life that has these experiences. I try not to ell anyone about it because people can't possibly understand unless it's happened to them.

I'm sorry about your dad, I wish I could say I've been through that. I'm glad your seeing him in your dreams though!

Anyways, lots of people think this crazy. Your not alone in that. Mostly because they don't know much about it, and it does sound like witchcraft. Even to me, after having five. :roll:

Thankfully lucid dreaming is well established, I could imagine how terrifying it must be to think you have a brain tumor.
Lucid dreams are truly amazing, you are actually quite lucky that you get them naturally.

Thanks for the kind words. I was getting to be quite the pro at lucid dreams there for awhile, it was every night. It happened so often there for a while I wanted it to stop. Now, sometimes it happens 3-4 times a night other times I wont have a lucid dream for a week or 2. I read a book on lucid dreams and it really helped me try new things. It taught me how to fly, as funny as that sounds. I guess it probably doesn't sound funny to you guys though.

Indeed flying isn't novel to most of us anymore :P However I still love flying, it's an amazing feeling.
