      Hi I'm Arnii.

It's always hard to introduce myself on a forum because I want to stay anonymous, while telling absolutely everyone everything about myself. So instead of doing just that, I'll stick with a safe "Hi".

      Hi!

      Okay, a little more.
The beginning of my lucidity dates back to the beginning of may, when I got completely into it. I mean, it sounded like fun and possible - and all of that without taking much time during the day! I thought "why not, I'm just going to start attaining lucidity." Of course, this was easier said than done.
I'm one of those persons who gets scared when they have the most minor ache in the vicinity of their heart. Like, I immediately begin to stress "omg heart attack!". So WILD-ing was out of the picture in the beginning. I mean, going to sleep but still stay awake so.. the reality... shifts? No, just no.
MILD, I wanted to learn to MILD. So I began dream-journalling, recalling, reality checking - the whole thing. Dreams became more vivid, once I realised I was dreaming but immediately woke up, and then, within two weeks, I had my first lucid dream.

And it was the only one till date. I've been trying to WILD now too, now I'm a little more familiar. No succes. So that's why I'm here, that's why I registered instead of lurking at your posts from the shadow of my screen. To ask questions, instead of having them. And quite possibly to say a lot of things that nobody will find interesting. Hell, this may even be my only post on this forum ever. But if that's the case, yeah, we're all just wasting time here. And isn't that the whole point of lucidity, not wasting your time, even when you are sleeping?

Hi. Some advice for WILDing: don't fear REM atonia. If possible, outright ignore it or just use it as a signpost to let you know you're on the right path. Anyways, I personally use lucid dreaming as a substitute for virtual reality. I enjoy going on adventures and generally doing the impossible. Also, I like being God. Happy dreaming.

Welcome to DV, Arnii! I can totally relate to the desire of staying anonymous while telling everyone everything about oneself LoL. I sincerely hope that this will indeed not be your only post here. Please do ask many questions, and we will be glad to try to answer to the best of our abilities. We never know what others might find interesting before we say it, and see their reaction - many a thread on this forum includes a baffled comment by the original poster who is surprised that that thread had as many comments as it did. The nice thing about a forum such as DreamViews is that most of us already have a topic that is of great interest to a lot if us. Please do not hesitate to ask a question even if you think that most people here have seen a question like that before - hey, that will mean we get a question that we hopefully know the answer to, that would be good. And if you have questions no one knows the answer to, then we may enjoy speculating and brainstorming. So, no matter what, please do ask.

Thanks everyone! I'm sure it will be ok and I will find my way into this strange and unknown world of LD. That one dream proved me it is possible to dream lucid, and I know that I will do it again someday!
