Red face I've been lucid dreaming since I was a boy in the 1970s.

      Hi all,

I'm very happy to learn of this online community.

I'm a 54 year old man who has had the infinite pleasure of a very rich alternate dream life with a semi-coherent story line that I started 20 years or so ago following some life-altering events. Before that I had several years where I would live the following day twice - once in my dreams, and then when I woke up the 'real' day would happen.

Before my coherent dream story began I used to dream very realistically about water rising around a house or over a road.

Once as a boy I remember falling out of bed as a dreamt I was falling into a dinosaur's mouth. One of my earliest memories.

My lucidity varies from very good to not at all/don't remember. Biggest issue for me is 'losing' the dream entirely a few moments after I wake up. About 15 years ago I began having my best/most favorite dreams; dreams of being able to move objects with my mind, and the ability to fly up through the air or right down into the earth. It seems when scientists talked about 99.9% of all atoms being empty space my subconscious took that and ran with it.

I am beginning the apple juice experiment as we speak. More to come. Now I'm off to read all your stories.

      Hey there, welcome to DreamViews!

It's so good to hear your back story, wow! 20 years is such a long time. I really hope you enjoy staying here. We have a dream journal system where you can record your dreams or attempts. Do you jot down your dreams? Writing it down really helps increase your dream reall exponentially so you can save your lucid and even nonlucid memories, as well as identify dream signs and evaluate your attempts, etc.

Please don't hesitate to post or send a message if you have any questions seeya!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

If you intend to read all the stories before posting again, you should be back in another 20 years.
There is tons of stuff on here that I have been trying to catch up on, but the task is almost impossible.
There are quite a few master dreamers that can hand out some really good advice.
You can even learn a thing or two from the critics.
The moderators are often helpful beyond their intended roles require.
Above all else, it is fun to be on here ( For me anyway )

      Oh yes - Welcome..........

Hi, welcome! (I'm new here also)

Like you I am an older dreamer (late 30's), and have been recording my dreams since my teens, and I can still remember dreams I had in childhood. I have been able to change things in my dreams all of my life, not in all of my dreams, and not all of the time, but often enough. I had my first lucid dream as a teen, and had no idea what it was (there was no internet back then, and we had to go to the library for all of our information, but there were no books on lucid dreams).
Unlike you, I have never had prophetic dreams. Do you still get them?
Also, I am interested in this 'story line'. 20 years is a long time for a dream theme. I have had dream themes that run for up to a couple of years, but not with anything as clearly defined as a story line. Can you give any more details? It sounds very interesting.
