      Hello

      Hello,
I had my first lucid dream when I was very young and sporadicly have some since. (the first one was actually a nightmare: I was in an elevator, which fel down into hell, but I don't believe in hell, so I realised I had to be dreaming; i pinched my hand, because I saw it in a cartoon and woke up, that was the only time pinching worked) A few months ago I started to search information on lucid dreams, to figure out how to control them (I had a strange experience: I realised I was sleeping, but didn't dream, all my senses were gone, but I realised I was in my bed) and had more LDs since (but I'm still not very talented in controling them, I usually wake up). Last week I had a dream in which I was captured by some doctors of an evil regime that had taken over the world and started to think "please, let this be a dream" and then I realised it was, but then the evil doctors stuck a needle in my spine, it really hurt and I couldn't wake myself up! It was a very emotionaly strong and realistic dream, except when I crawled up the walls of my house when I tried to escape, and after I woke up, I even thought "did I really wake up, or have they sedated me and is this the dream?" I then searched the web for information about feeling pain in dreams (I had never felt such clear pain in a dream before) and found a discussion on this forum.
Last night I had another LD: I really had to go to the bathroom and suddenly a toilet appeared in front of me, which didn't make any sense, but I had to wake myself up to go to the bathroom, so I had no time to experiment
So then I decided to join this forum and learn more techniques and ideas for my LDs.
I am not a great poster, but more a reader.
btw. anyone can tell me if I've made some linguistic errors, because English is not my mother tongue (it's Dutch)

      Greetings,
      MrEvers aka Alex_of_Borg

I normally have (non lucid) happy dreams, for example: after waking up from that nightmare with the evil doctors, I fell asleep again, the (now not lucid) dream had a similar motive, but was completely different: I was running again, but the entire world was turned black and white and everybody had become very boring and zombie-like. I saved the world by reintroducing colours with a peacock.
I think the dreams in which you experience the strongest emotions are the ones you remember best, and those are often nightmares.

True that is, but sometimes, you can remember them not just from strong emotions.
If you seriously have another nightmare & become Lucid, you should stand up to the nightmare (don't worry, LDs can never really hurt you)!
