Question Abduction or what Drs. said...

I don't know where to begin...If the old hag is a syndrome or night terror then what explains the low flying, slow, black triangle I have seen 2 of the times this has happened. My new neighbor and I were discussing the 8 min vid. I took a year ago and asked if I had seen the "old hag." I had never heard this term. But I had made an outline where I drew this fugure way back. Along with the Triangle that would move over my house in the 80's and 90's ( I am 33 now.) Last year I happened to catch one on my phone, I watched it hover for over an hour. No paralysis though. I also live on the other end of the road I had these experiences on back 20 some odd years ago. But when I actually saw the figure(s). It would stand in my doorway at the end of my bed. Dark cloak, long face almost skeletal looking but as a child I thought it was an old ghost woman missing an eye. As I got older as in preteen... I thought it looked more like a Praying Mantis in a cloak. I remember all these experiences so vividly and was taken to doctors bye my mom because it happened so much. I also remember being trapped in an amber/pinkish blob being able to see my parents but not move or scream. So is it just a coincidence that I have seen these triangles when this has happened? Reoccuring? I also would set my alarm for 2:45 a.m. because I noticed it always would happen a little before 3. I ould turn on a light or the t.v. because you could feel the "presence" coming and this seemed to stop it. But around the same. I could control my dreams, so much so as I got into puberty I could um frankly...have wet dreams, fly (but only about 4 feet from the ground?) lol. Stop time and also visit a place that looking back on it looked like Egypt, but comepletely black with a white road leading to a red Sun in the horizon. The road went between several black pyramids. The landscape was like obsidian. now what I am saying is how is it that you can video tape these triangles? Because I obviously proved my doctors wrong that is not a dream because I describe the triangles when I was a kid in the 80's. and now there are thousands of videos of them on the internet of exactly what I would see. So that, anyone with common sense would see, is proven. Some people that say these are demons, well demons look like aliens. Aliens look like skinny dead old hags. Am I not right?
So is this is all a "lucid dream" why does everybody seem to see same exact thing. And number 2 how is it that you can video a dream? as children are very innocent and not prejudiced and most children will straight up tell you the truth how blatantly blunt it may be. I have no reason to lie about this as it's taking me about 25 years to talk about it I have suppressed it so long. any insight is greatly appreciated thank you very much and my name is Steven.

      Welcome to Dreamviews, Steven!

Well, the Old Hag syndrom you mention has nothing to do with Lucid Dreaming. Actually is one of the misnomers we are trying to dispell.

Lucid dream is simply a dream, in which your daytime memory kicks in (normally is off during sleep), and you suddenly realize, you are dreaming, and your physical body is safely in your bed, asleep.

This realization gives you freedom to do anything in your dream.

The Old Hag syndrom is associated with SP. SP is a disorder, when we notice being paralyzed. Normally, we are in SP every time we dream, so we don't act out our dreams. If something goes wrong and our body turns it on too soon, or fails to turn it off when we wake up, we may find ourselves unable to move or talk. This is when some people describe somebody sitting on chest, making it hard to breathe. In my opinion, this is something that our mind fills in, when we feel our body being very heavy from SP.

The theory of alien abductions is in my opinion an entirely different subject. Has nothing to do with lucid dreaming and with SP. Is it possible that someone is startled awake, finds himself in SP, gets scared and his imagination filles in the gaps with shadow figures? I think so. But I'm not going to dispute claims of alien abduction. For all I know, they could be real.

Also, some things that we experience may be explained as hypnagogic or hypnopompic hallucinations. We get these often, when we stay aware past the time, when our mind should already be asleep. These HH are the beginnings of dreams. When we already asleep when we start to dream, we just remember them as dreams. But if we are still awake, then we see them as HH. That part of sleep can get very confusing. We see, hear, feel things, that we take as normal when we dram them. But when still awake, they can get spooky. Or enjoyable, depending on every individual.

When I was actively trying to have an OBE - out of body experience, I knew I have to wake up just after I would fall asleep, to see my dream body exit my physical body. So by chance I did wake up one night. I was few feet above my bed, half way between bed and window, being dragged by my ankles to the window. I clearly felt hands holding me. My awareness split, and I experienced this from two perspectives at the same time. One, from my sleeping physical body on the bed, and the other, from my dream body above the bed. Classic alien abduction scenario, right? I would have been spooked, had this been my first out of body experience.

So the way I see this, we have 3 different issues here.

      1. Lucid dreaming
      2. Sleep paralysis
      3. Alien abductions
