Introduction and a quick question

Hi there!

I started to experiment with LD 2 years ago, got one under my belt but of course I was too excited and woke up after a few seconds. Then I couldn't repeat it and eventually I gave up the whole thing.

A month ago I revisited the idea of becoming a frequent lucid dreamer. I've been reading a lot about it (and watching videos, etc.) and I'm doing LaBerge's step by step course which is really great. In the last month I've had 2 lucid dreams (not too long ones), but still it's a start.

I'm writing my dream journal and doing the exercises regularly and getting some results (good dream recall, more details, etc), but not LDs.

I have no problem with dream recall (sometimes 3 separate/night), and I always jot them down, I have my Dream Signs (my father is one of the main ones), I do a lot of RC during the day but it doesn't seem to work in my dreams. My unconscious always convinces me that there IS an explanation to the weird things in my dreams and I don't seem to question them (last night I rode home from the theater on a lawn mover! :D).

Can you suggest me how to improve this ability?

The few times I realized I was dreaming I realized because of context or inner awareness (this can't be happening to me!) but I never seem to remember doing RC in my dreams or question how I got there.

So I just need to train myself to question the weirdness of my dreams. My question is HOW? :) Everything else is there.

Attempt conscious transitions, even if you do not succeed for a while it will drive your intent forward more and cause more spontaneous Lucid Dreams. Meditate more. Question your waking state more. Incubate your dreams. There are many ways :) good luck!

Always believe, that you could be in a dream. Especially when you asking yourself if you are dreaming as part of DILD training. That way your belief will not be tied to only strange things. happy dreams:alien:

Thanks, will do! So this way:

- I check my hands and my surroundings 10-12 times a day (to be honest, I've never seen my hands in my dream, so I don't know if this RC is good for me. Reading and looking away doesn't seem to work for me as I barely ever saw anything written in my dreams so that wouldn't be a good clue either. Any idea which RC should I try?)
- I ask myself "How I got here"?
-When I know I'm not in a dream, I IMAGINE if I was in a dream.
- Then I imagine a DS and what I'd do if it was a dream.

Anything I missed?

The funny thing is that after my initial post I had a half lucid dream right away! :)

I found that my father is one of my main DS-s and When I did reality checks I always imagined him and what I'd do if I met him. And suddenly I just woke up in a dream, right next to him in a flying car... :D

So after my initial post I've had 2 lucid dreams and I become better and better in controlling them! :)

I wasn't aware of this method: Puffin's DILD Guide - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views but still I did it (or very similar to it) and it helped me a lot, and also your "collection of techniques for DILD" in your description field.

I'm also taking Lecithin after 5 hours of sleep (when I wake up naturally for a pee) and out of four nights it did the drink. Not sure it's the lecithin but it can't hurt. :D
