I told myself to wake up
Hi so I'm new here and last night I had a new experience. For the first time ever I knew I was dreaming. At first I remember not liking where I was then wishing to talk to my boyfriend. He appeared and we talked about something that had been bothering me. I got frustrated and told him I was leaving and didn't want to be here anymore then I did something weird. I turned around and it felt like I was staring myself in the face. I looked myself in the eye and screamed, "wake up!" Is that weird? Has anyone else appeared to themselves or seen themselves?

Hi Suchdreams, welcome to DreamViews!
I personally haven't had lucid dream like that (I have had non lucids where I could view myself in 3rd person, but totally not the same thing as what you experienced). Although some people here have reported starting out a lucid dream by getting out of their beds, then looking back and seeing their sleeping body still in the bed. One term for this type of dream is OBE or OOBE (out of body experience). We have a subforum for those kinds of experiences here if you want to check it out: Beyond Dreaming
While some folks think it's a supernatural event, others believe it isn't. Up to you to decide for yourself. It sure is interesting either way!

OpheliaBlue,
Thanks so much. I didn't know if it was uncommon so I googled it and what you said about the OBE is true. Not sure what I believe about it yet. Al I know is it was kind of freaky.

I can imagine it would be pretty freaky! I'll start out lucid dreams in my bed a lot, and when I get up, there's not a body left behind or anything (though sometimes I wish, I think it would be freaky AND cool), but a dream character version of my boyfriend is usually there in bed. Lots of different adventures there...lol
