Hi Guys :)
Hey! I'm MonoicEcho~ Or you can refer to me as Kai. I've recently just started researching about Lucid Dreaming and they say to keep a dream journal... but I can't really remember my dream.. >< So Any tips for me? :)
P.S: I have lack of sleep so this could be one factor that affect my inefficiency to recall my dream?

Hello, welcome to Dream Views!
Keeping a dream journal does help, but if you don't want to write down the whole dream, maybe you can write a few keywords then write it in full in the morning. You can do the same with a voice recorder too, if the writing doesn't appeal to you. Lack of sleep definitely affects recall. If you're not sleeping that well you might not be getting into REM - which is where most dreams occur.
Hope that helps a bit!

Something that helps with my dream recall if I'm in a particularly poor period of memory is just to play the dream out any way I want.
If you just know one tiny detail from the dream, hold onto that and make up any scenario in your head. If something feels familiar then just go with it.
Don't try too hard. Just make stuff up and daydream about your nightdreams.
Once you remember more and more pieces, write them down, and then you can make up more elaborate stories.
It's fun and it keeps you thinking about your dreams : )
Good luck!

Do you think sleeping with the lights on affects my dream recall...? Cause I sleep with lights on XP!!!

Welcome to Dreamviews!
YOu can check out this section for info about dream recall. Dream Signs and Recall
And I have heard, that sleeping with lights on doesn't allow our body to fully switch into the night mode. Not sure, but it might depend on how used you are to the lights, and how bright they are. Maybe a night light in another room, or blocked by something, so it's there, but not so bright?

Welcome to DreamViews!
I used to sleep with the lights/tv on to prevent myself from having hypnopompic hallucinations. So I think darkness promotes a more active dream life. Once I got married, it was off with the lights because my husband's a light sleeper. I now have a electronic slide show as my nightlight. A friend of mine uses Christmas lights. Those might be more soothing to help you fall asleep and promote a more active dream life but not have to be completely in the dark.
Start thinking about dreaming more and tell yourself before you go to bed, "I will remember my dreams." If you wake up a little in the morning then fall back to sleep, there's a greater chance of remembering your dream that you have when you go back to sleep. Also, just keep writing in that dream journal. I think over time you'll start remembering more dreams and in more detail! Make sure to linger in bed and think about anything you remember of your dream, even if it's just an emotion, location or sound, because it might come back to you.

Haha thanks :D! Also.. after switching off the lights (Lights as in the room light.. the very bright one that fills up the room with brightness), I start to remember more and more dreams and are keeping them in my DJ :3~
