Hey guys. I'm new here.

Hi guys, I'm MikeTheHumanBoy. I'm new to these forums. I've been journaling my dreams for a little while now and I've started to notice my dream signs. The only problem is I rarely encounter most of them in real life so I can't reality check when I see them. For example, my most common dream sign for some reason or another seems to be hotel rooms. But I very rarely go to hotels in real life. Is there anything I can do about this? Luckily though, I've just discovered another one of my dream signs is bathrooms. Obviously I go to bathrooms everyday so this should make things easier haha.

I think I actually became partially lucid the other night. But it didn't last very long. Oddly enough I didn't wake up.I just felt tired within my dream and then I seem to have forgot that I knew I was dreaming and just continued with the dream. Weird. But still, it's promising.

Just kidding. Actually having your dream sign be someplace you rarely go could be a good thing. You just have to remind yourself daily "The next time I'm in a hotel room I will do a reality check." Keep telling yourself that over and over again, and at some point in your dream you will remember.

Hey Mike, great to have you here. :) I agree with Tygar - repeating to yourself over and over that you will become lucid upon encountering a specific DS is a great and easy way to achieve lucidity. You can also try visualizing the dream sign and combine this with the mantra or look at pictures of your dream sign, again reminding yourself to become lucid next time you see it.

To extend the time spent in dreams or retain your lucidity and not slip into ordinary dreams, it is of great help to have a task in mind of something you want to do in a lucid dream.
