I had my first Lucid Dream!!

Hi! I'm new to Dream Views and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what happened to me the other night when I had my first Lucid Dream. I slept for 7 hours and got up for 2 hours, then went back to sleep. As I began to fall asleep, all of a sudden I felt like I turned into a ghost, and I drifted up off of my body and spun around my room 5 times, able to see my real body laying on the bed. After spinning around (which felt really awesome by the way) I landing back into my body and woke up inside of a dream. I proceeded to do a reality check to make sure I was dreaming and I was. I then excitedly ran around my house, then walked outside to find trees that changed colors everytime I blinked. I woke up after that. What happened to me as I feel asleep? Is it normal to have that weird of an experience when entering a lucid dream?

Congrats for your first LD. What you experienced is called an OBE (Out of Body Experience). So congrats on your OBE too.
It's pretty normal don't worry, OBEs can happen mainly when using techniques like WILD and SSILD. Here in DreamViews you will find posts about OBE normally on Beyond Dreaming section

It sounds like you had a WILD (Wake Initiated Lucid Dream) with a long WBTB (Wake Back To Bed), I also get fun sensations like that when WILDing. Check this thread out, it lists some of the transitions and sensations: Sensations and types of entry into WILD

Welcome to DV Lucas! :) Congrats on your first LD!! :mrgreen: It does sound like an OBE actually. I don't know that much because I don't study on it but yeh. Also a WILD :D Once again, congrats

Whoa, it does sound that you started out with an OBE, when you first time exited your body and saw it on your bed. Ofc, can't say for sure though, coz it's all kinda crazy, you know. Some WILDing sensations can be almost the same. All kinds of floating and moving and being twisted and distorted.

When you got back into your body, or when you percieved that happening, you entered a LD (unless it was a LD from the start, hehe).

In any case, it was AWESOME. I love all those sensations that we call "transition". Hope you will like them too. Some can be really intense, but as long as you know that you are perfectly safe, feel free to enjoy. :D
