Hello from Lake Tahoe nevada

New to this site. Not new to lucid dreaming. I used to be capable of lucid dreams when I was a child all the way to my late teens, and capable of control. I lost it all in my twenties, I'm guessing because of my turbulent life and stress. Now that I'm 29, and have been trying furiously for the past year to regain my abilities, I've managed as of last night to remain lucid for about five seconds of dream time. Hey, it's a start. You should've seen me, I took a look at a calender on the wall, it didn't make sense, I started jumping up and down screaming I'm dreaming and I know it! Lol then I started examining the door jam and carpet talking to myself saying " the detail is phenomenal", I guess I was so excited I woke myself up. Lol I'm also what I'm guessing the term is called dream precog. I have had multiple instances in my life of predictions through dreams, in which all have had more than three witnesses and documentation. I predicted a large earthquake through a dream, it happened the next day after I told my mother about the dream. I've predicted a traffic jam from a semi truck on fire in the exact location I dreamt of it being, and the next day after telling my husband, the exact events unfolded in the same place and time I said they did in my dream. I think I'm empathic, numerous occasions I've exhibited empathic abilities including a very well documented incident with a Southern California based detectives murder case. I was about 17 and I wrote down the license plate of an SUV that we were behind because I got creepy vibes from it. It just wasn't right. Two weeks later my sisters friends grandparents were murdered, and my mother gave the detective the piece of paper I had rewritten the lp number onto because I first wrote it on my arm. It was a long shot, but turned out it was the main suspects vehicle who had driven over two hundred miles away from his home to scope out the neighborhood. Try explaining that four years later on the witness stand while the defense cross examines you and tries to paint you as a quack, but still doesn't explain why his client was two hundred miles away from home.

So that's me, trying to understand empathic powers, and dream precog, as well as lucid dreaming.

And I wanted to ask, if you start lucid dreaming, do you lose your abilities to have precog dreams? I know I had many precog dreams when I was younger, but I can't remember if it was during a period of lucidity and control, or not.

Welcome to DV MsVanwolf! :) Precog dreams, maybe it's just deja vu. But personally I don't think you'd lose the ability, lucid dreams don't change a thing because you are just aware. But that's only me. Hope to see you around!

Thank you. I did a lot of research a few years ago, the term is " Deja Reve". Although it is similar to what I experience, most experiences that others noted happened months even years after they had their " déjà Reve". Which if anything, statistics tells us the wider the gap between déjà Reve or déjà vu and the real world event, the higher the chance of a similar or exact event happening just by mere chance, discounting déjà Reve or vu. Mine happen quite literally the same day, which would not be constituent of déjà Reve or déjà vu but rather more symptomatic and characteristic of precognitive in nature.
And for my lucid dreaming, I should have elaborated my concern. I am concerned that I will lose my precognitive ability in my dreams because of lucidity AND control. I know that lucidity cannot result in the changing of my dreams, but control can. I was wondering if anyone had any similar experiences as well as documentation of them as I do.

I don't think that lucid dreaming can affect pregoc dreams. Lucid dreaming doesn't affect non-lucid dreams. Maybe it can even help since in a lucid dream you will be able to communicate with your subconscious in a more interactive way.
Congrats for having a lucid dream by the way. I don't know if you are familiar with stabilization techniques but I suggest that you give this tutorial a read anyway (Dream Stabilization and Clarity Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views) and remember to control your excitement. Good dreams

Just like you when I was younger it was just something natural that came to me before I even knew what LD or DC was....now that I am older it is more difficult to make myself do this.

Haha, yeah. When I was younger I did it without even knowing, and then after a few years I started to control my dreams and make whatever I wanted to happen, happen. But I assume, adulthood is the killer of all dreams. Lol

That's a really interesting story, it must be both cool and troubling at the same time to have these precog dreams. I don't have any experience with precognitive dreams but I wouldn't think that lucid dreams would prevent them, it might even help since you'll be aware like GuitarShot100 said. I was wondering, how do you distinguish a precog dream from a regular dream? Do you know it's a precog dream when you wake up or do you only realize it was once the actual event happens in waking life?

My precognitive dreams are extra detailed, but i never know they are the real deal until the actual event happens the same day. But when they are extra detailed I make sure I log it and tell people the next day in order to have witnesses. It's not really troubling though. The troubling thing is the empathic stuff. I really hate feeling when someone is awful deep down inside, or something isn't right and I can't put my finger on it, so I have to take stock of my surroundings and the people near me so I can keep an eye on them, tell them to be extra careful, or weed out the bad person so I know to steer clear of them. It's too taxing to be out in public, so I'm inside all day everyday, I send my husband out for food. I really hate Christmas, 3 years ago I started to order everything online because I just can't stand the feeling of someone awful nearby, but in a crowd you can't tell who it is. I feel as though I've been hit by a bus and sleep for two days straight, I'm so tired. But at home I'm perfectly fine, I work out in the garden, walk my dog around the neighborhood, raise my three toddlers, we take our children out on hikes in the mountains, picnics. Anything that doesn't involve other people. The empathic stuff has just gotten worse these past three years after my last child was born. I don't take any medication, I don't have health issues, I don't even take aspirin or Tylenol for headaches, so I know it's not side effects from anything. Thank you for responding.
