Newbie in need of help.

I've had a total of three lucid dreams within the last year. All three of them are always the same. I'm also a bit embarrassed posting this but I am starting to feel a bit wierded out about it. So here it goes: I'm having sex with an invisible person. There is a feeling of someone on top of me and holding me down. I'm not scared during this and I find it pleasurable. Although yesterday, I went to bed with the intention of having one of these again. I was aware I was sleeping, but thought I might be awake at the same time. I then felt a presence on the bed and it felt like someone was sitting on my right arm, something very heavy. I didn't panic and finally the sensation of being held down went away. I then continued to have the usual sex dream with this invisible person.

note: These always happen during an afternoon nap.

Before posting this, I did do a forum search on this topic and the only thing I could find similar was something called 'old hag'.

What you're talking about sounds like "Sleep Paralysis" which is where the Old Hag tale comes from, if I remember correctly. I'm not quite sure though how often SP happens in afternoon naps, because I usually don't have time for naps, myself. :( But anyway, during deep sleep, the body is usually paralyzed from movement; a sort of defense mechanism for keeping you from acting out your dreams and possibly hurting yourself. Now, being an afternoon nap, you may be sleeping just lightly enough to be having a dream (erotic dreams are the best. no reason to be embarassed by that. :wink: ) and while you're sleeping soundly enough to dream, you are still close enough to being awake that you're feeling the effect of sleep paralysis, which would explain the 'weight' you feel. SP while partially awake can be an intense, sometimes scary sensation of not being able to move your body. The first few experiences with SP are often terrifying to some people, so I think you should take it as a blessing that your SP happens while you're dreaming about sex.

Of course, this is only my Guess, but seeing as how I'm the first to respond, it's all you've got to go by, so far. :-P

Recently I was coming out of a semi-WILD (type of lucid dream) and even though I was mostly conscious and felt myself lying in bed - I had this feeling that the fingers in my right hand were being lifted and droped by some force or someone. It was a scary experience, because I was almost convinced that someone (invisible woman?) was in the room doing this - but I knew it was just a weird dream sensation carrying over.

The feeling kept on - finally, even though I really didn't want to move, I just HAD to find out what was going on. It turns out that my hand was right over my knee, and my fingers were lying on the bulge of my kneecap - giving me that "lifting" sensation.

SO: I think you may have been either lying on top of your arm without realizing it - or maybe your arm fell asleep and felt "heavy" to you.

Just a thought.

Yes, it could be 'the lucky invisible man' and I guess it's possible that I could have been sleeping on my arm. :o

I still wonder though; why during SP, we feel/sense a presence with this.

yea thats a good question....

i've only had one dream like this and it was scarey.
I thought i woke up from sleeping but i guess i wasn't fully awake. and it felt like someone was hold down my left wrist and pushing down really hard on my chest and i couldnt breathe.... it lasted for awhile until i jumped out of my bed and gasped for air.

i feel bad for my sister because she always has these dreams.
