I Think I Had My First LD

So last night I think I had my first LD. I've been working really hard to do reality checks IWL and generally raise my self-awareness. Just before bed I popped a couple of Vitamin B6 and did my pre-sleep rituals and mantras.

Ahead of me is the most vivid and lushly green expanse of field I have ever seen. In the middle distance a huge roman stone viaduct dominates the view. It's beautiful. I decide to look around me. I notice row upon row of Roman Empirical soldier in full battle gear or "dressed up to the nines" as I so eloquently put in my DJ. At this point I got the fledgling idea that something may not be quite right. This prompted me to look at myself. Low and behold I'm dressed in the same fashion. Leather skirt-y thing (There's a technical and precise term for the history books if ever I heard one) and sword included.

At this point I decide to carry out the reality check I'd been doing for the past week or so. I didn't even get to count my fingers though because just looking at my hands I discovered they were matte black and brittle. I remember thinking that my hands were graphite. I basically had two huge pencils for appendiges. At this point I became fully lucid. And was awash with euphoria. What a feeling.

At this point I proceeded to get so hyped I couldn't control my dream. I exited the dream. It could have even been a false awakening, I'll be doing RC's every time I wake up now just to check, apparently a very good way to get lucid from a FA.

I would love to know if this was a Lucid Dream. I'm pretty sure it is but i'd love some second opinions. Also some advice on where to go now and how to improve dream control.

      Many thanks Dudes

The point you realized you were dreaming it was a lucid dream. So congratz! Even if it only lasted a few seconds it still was one. You can start having a lucid dream than lose lucidity but that's ok. :3 Good job so far.

Brilliant news! Thanks for the encouragement. A wee bit disappointed it didn't last so long. But that's the beauty of LDing that you get the opportunity to improve it every night. How about your first experience? I'd love to know about others' first LD's. Also, how long did it last?

Your welcome. :3 The oldest lucid dream I can recall is when I was 5yrs old and some months. Maybe I recall it cause it was a nightmare and I have a pic of myself in the room at that age. The dream started with me being in a beautiful place filled with flowers. The sky was pink, I was wearing a kimono and I was observing a cute butterfly. But suddenly a darkness came from behind me and than everything was pitch black. I appeared in a dark hall and in front of me I could see a picture of a anime character who was old and had white long hair. Than I appeared in a snowy cave where I saw people surrounding a man. I know I was lucid because I was intently observing the man knowing this couldn't be real. The man was on a table and he had a green eye on his leg.(Thought he was my dad at 1st) After that I left the cave with a friend and we were chased by a big, tall snow like creature. We ran into a house than hid under a bed. I wanted to hide in the closet but I just jumped under the bed. The bed acted as a elevator kind of and my friend dissapeared. I ran out the house cause I heard the monster roar. Outside i ran and saw a beautiful scenery in front of me. The sky wasn't pink though, it was a light blue. However there was a huge thin crack in the ground seperating the snowy place from the summer like place. I ran and tried to jump over but fell in and woke up. The next dream I can recall is eating a pancake outside on a table in a red shirt with another anime character(who was young though). We talked about how I was moving soon. I wasn't really into lucid dreaming at that age though. I was just in the moment and went with the flow. XD

Yup, first of the many my friend

Usually when learning to lucid dream you get a few seconds worth of lucid dream and then, you wake up. But that creates a subliminal trigger that will help you to have more lucid dreams in the future.

I recommend you to check our Task of the Month Lucid Dreaming challenges section to further motivate you to keep on lucid dreaming and score a shinny pair of wings under your name
