Ready for Action
Hey err'body! I'm Quilly. Novice lucid dreamer, at your service.
I'm Irish with some African roots. As far as personality goes, I'm very happy-go-lucky, eccentric, and extremely individualistic. I'm very open to meeting new people and learning new things. I have a very hard time being lazy - I'm always puttering around.
I hold very strong views regarding gender, and believe it only serves to maintain the limits of who we are and what is possible for us based on our sex. I don't conform to conventional femininity, and constantly tear it at the seams until the word fits me like a glove. I make it my own.
I love wildlife and will be seldom seen without an animal or some aspect of nature around me. I live with a bearded dragon, four dogs and three cats. I've been studying and learning about animals from a very young age.
I love video games, especially RPGs like the Final Fantasy series. My favourites are Kingdom Hearts,Metal Gear Solid, and pretty much every Bethesda title. I used to play WoW, but quit due to the fact it literally took up hours of my life that I wasn't comfortable throwing away. I play Hearthstone and Skyrim quite often these days. I'm also really into tabletop RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons. I love making gay werewolves and fairies in Sims. I'm not quite sure why.
I'm very artistic and musical, literally whiling away the hours just drumming to music. I make plushies all the time, and hope to start doing commissions on those soon to generate a little extra cash when I'm a broke-ass uni student. I doodle gryphons tons.
I LOVE anime and cosplaying! My favourites are Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Death Note, Stein's Gate and Wolf's Rain. I can't stand animes that are like 200+ episodes long. My favourite movie is Wolf Children by Mamoru Hosoda. I *live* for Studio Ghibli movies.
As for lucid dreaming, I've been keeping a dream journal now for around two months and have seen noticeable increases in the vividness of my dreams. I practice All-Day Awareness throughout the day at intervals.
The only success I've had in lucid dreaming was this one time I tried holding my nose and breathing (I was able to do so), and then, for a second, I THINK I may have become lucid, but then I suddenly got a very tingly sensation all over my body - almost like a 'dead arm' feeling. I'd be grateful if anyone could explain what that was about, and any tips on how I could improve. WILDs don't seem to work too great for me - I always seem to fall asleep.
Otherwise,it's nice to meet you all!
