Hi everyone,
I'm excited to be on board!
So a little about me.
I live in NZ, although I am originally from Europe and I'm 31 years old.
Throughout my life I have always had very vivid dreams (most of which happened to be nightmares). Now that I have done some research, I am quite confident I have experienced SP on and off since I was quite young.
The reason I got into LD recently is as both a way to control my nightmares, to explore my inner self and hopefully solve unresolved conflict and feel better during the day as a result. I am also an avid sci-fi reader and I enjoy reading novels about pioneers conquering new planets - and I thought that LD would allow me to do just that! I have experienced LD in the past, only a few times and without any training, and I remember fondly the great feeling of being able to control the environment around me - which is something I would love to fee again.
So far, other than reading a lot of information on the Internet, I have read LaBerge's "Lucid Dreaming" and I'm currently half way through Daniel Love's "Are you Dreaming?". I found that, although I haven't had a LD yet, the information I have been learning has helped me deal with SP episodes a lot better. In the last two nights I came very close to experiencing a LD, so signs are promising.
I am going to read up here on the forum about how SP leads into LD and then I will perhaps post a specific question with my personal experiences (I find that SP lasts quite a long time and doesn't lead into a LD - I know I am becoming lucid, but the vibrations/feeling of cold going from the head to the rest of the body/sounds (mainly ringing in my ears) are quite hard to shake off even if I control my breathing and relax...).
Anyway, great to meet you lot!

Welcome mate, I'm from New Zealand too :D
LD is definitely a good way to resolve internal conflict. Another book that is good to read is Stephan LaBerge's 'Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming', I'm reading it at the moment and it's quite good.
Keep up the good work, hope you get a LD soon :)

Welcome to Dreamviews!
This is indeed a great place to develop your dreaming skills and meet some awesome people!
I love science fiction too and exploring new planets in lucid dreams (for the lack of being able to do it awake, lol)
Make sure to check out the Induction Methods and Techniques as it will help you a ton :)
Also, do not miss the following!
Attaining Lucidity ---------------> Many techniques here as well as users sharing their own experience.
Tasks of the Month & Year --------------> This will give you a great motivation to lucid dream as these tasks are fun and gives you a reward for accomplishing them (and that will be an extra goal to help yourself to lucid dream!)
Best luck and let me know if you got any questions :)
