Welcome to DV, Guetdawg!
I don't dream exclusively in third person, but do find myself in that state quite often -- either it feels like I'm watching a movie, or else I'm just a disembodied "self" but still participating directly in the action. I think that this does happen with a lot of people; perhaps if you started a thread to discuss dreaming in third person, you might get some interesting input (you could also do a search for an old thread, but I haven't seen one myself).
I think, though, that if you can become lucid quite easily because of dreaming in third-person, you should count yourself lucky!
See you around the forums!
