Re-introduction and blast from the past

After disappearing from DV almost a decade ago (holy crap, that makes me feel old :holyshit:) then pulling a quick digital drive-by hello a couple of years ago in an attempt to re-connect, I'm dusting off my account once more.

Are any of the old-timers still around and active (circa 2005-2006)? If so, give me a shout! I'd love to reconnect and hopefully also learn my way around the enormity and new world order that DV has grown into.

For those of you who knew me way back when, in the interim, I've graduated grad school, married, gotten a job or two or three, moved across the country several times, adopted a couple of cats, and taken up skydiving and scuba diving here in beautiful Florida. It's been a whirlwind and an adventure.

A decade? Holy crap, there's a lot you've missed. Like... we changed servers or something, I think. Dunno actually, haven't been around that long myself...

We have older folks dropping in every once in a while, so there might be a few hanging around. But yeah, like you said, we're massive now.

I gotta agree about Florida -- having lived many other places (read: many colder places), I take advantage every chance I get to traipse around in flip-flops in the middle of what the less climatically fortunate call "winter".

It looks like Ophelia and O are still around, but I haven't come across any other familiar names yet (does Howie ever come back?). Oh well, times change. It looks like you've got a really active community now, which is great. It was pretty awesome "back in the day," too -- I made some good friends.

Sounds like you joined a year before I did, and I also went away for quite a while. I've been thinking of writing my own “reintroduction” post. Sadly, my memories of everyone from back then are almost completely gone. I haven't seen too many familiar people now. :(

Travis -- I think I may actually remember you. I was pretty active around here in 2005 (well, by some standards). It's funny how we tend to drift away and come back to certain things in life, like following some slow invisible tide. What triggered you to come back, if you don't mind my asking?

I continued LD stuff casually (at a lower priority) for several years after leaving, but didn't feel like I was accomplishing much with some of my goals that whole time like I had in the first few years. Then I finally decided to actually read my dream journal for the first time since starting it (I waited so long I had at least a decade's worth (1000+) entries to read through :P) and noticed some patterns and some possible clues in my attitudes. Then I decided it was about time to come back here to do some research/get some new ideas and get re-excited/motivated about this, give it a bit higher priority and try to finally start making some real progress again. Not to mention I realized I kind of missed sharing experiences with others. :)
