      I didn't know I was having LD

Hello! I just learned about Lucid Dreaming over the past weekend.

I woke up from a nap and told my boyfriend that I didn't like my dream so I woke up. He was shocked and asked me if I knew I was dreaming. I said "Yes, doesn't everyone." I cannot ever recall having a dream in which I don't know I am dreaming. I don't dream every night but if I do it usually starts with me thinking "oh cool I'm dreaming tonight." Sometimes I control my dream but I usually just roll with whatever is happening.

My boyfriend encouraged me to looking into LD and I stumbled upon this site. I hope to learn a little more about it and maybe do some of the dream control challenges on here for fun.

Actually, if you make a conscious effort to remember your dreams, you'll find that you actually do dream every night; at least 5 times per. You just haven't been remembering them. Imagine the fun to be had!

You'll have a great time here.

I know we actually dream every night. I guess I meant to word that as I don't remember my dreams every night.

It would be pretty cool in increase how many dreams I remember experiencing though.

Wow that's really cool. I enjoy doing the dream control challenges here as well, I think that the Lucid Dares thread is pretty neat. Tasks of the Month/Year is a lot of fun too and you get to have cool wings under your name when you complete them, who doesn't want to have cool wings?

      Welcome to DV!

It's so fascinating that some people naturally find themselves aware of the dream state throughout their lives.
I'd be interested to hear about your earliest dream memories if you feel like sharing! A lot of natural lucid dreamers start by waking themselves up from nightmares as children, I wonder if that was the case for you?

I look forward to seeing you around.

      Natural buddy!

I must say though, every night is probably really a treat, eh?

      Seems pretty rare.

Actually it is the case. I was terrible with my nightmares and I know now I probably drove my mom crazy. I remember her always telling me as a kid "its not real" and "if you have a bad dream try to wake up."
She pretty much taught me to do it without us realizing it.

My early nightmares were typical scary kid dreams very colorful though unrealistic colors but tigers chasing me or getting hit by cars. I don't remember to many.

I suppose so. Ever since my boyfriend told me this the dream I remember have been really short. Sometimes I go through phases where I don't remember dreams for a while. Maybe its a coincidence or I'm excited for some LD challenges.
