Hi there!
Hi everyone!
Nick from Bulgaria here, I'm a newbie in this forum and I'm much more of a newbie in LDing. I see that there's a lot of people who have quite some experience here and I'm already looking forward to learning something from all of you. I hope being a member here will help make the whole experience better and easier, especially considering there's no one I know in real life that is interested in lucid dreaming.
I've read some things about lucid dreaming and I actually started trying to do it about a month ago, perhaps even more. Sadly, for now I haven't had a lot of success. I now vaguely recall only one night where I believe I had two lucid dreams - this was about two weeks ago and I've barely dreamed since then. The first time I somehow noticed all the colors were really vivid so I said to myself that "this is a dream" and woke up immediately. Then, in the next dream, I was being chased by the Hulk which was really random. My hands randomly popped up in front of me and they were looking really odd. I then remembered that's a sign that you're dreaming and started running around, but woke up very soon after.
What I'm doing at the moment is doing reality checks as often as I can think of and generally trying to increase my awareness. However I currently work as support for Google services and I can barely find any time to spend alone. Because there's a lot going on, I feel that I forget to do RCs quite often now so I think this is definitely something to focus on at this point. Also, dream recall is something I'd really like to improve. I keep a dream journal but for now, there's not as many entries as I'd like there to be. If you have any tips on doing all of this better, please do feel free to let me know!
Thanks for reading, hope to chat soon! = )

Welcome to dreamviews!
It sounds to me like you're doing everything right, your daytime dreaming work is better than mine. :cheeky:
I'm sure you're going to continue to improve, especially with the help of all the nice and friendly people on this forum. You could start a Dream journal here on dreamviews! A lot of people love to read others' dreams, myself included. :santa:
See you around.

Hi! I am also kinda new to dreamviews but I've been lucid dreaming on and off for just a bit over a year. I think your dream recall should improve as long as you keep trying to remember your dreams, and try to get enough sleep too because I've found that this affects my dream recall a lot. Good luck! :D

One thing I know for sure is that I made a promise to myself to advance in lucid dreaming, so no matter how slowly I make progress, I'm not going to let anything stop me this time. I know it sounds cheesy but it's true!
What's bad is that I mainly focus on this throughout the day, I remember to do my reality checks every now and then (although I would like to get in the habit of doing them even more often, I've also set up a notification on my phone which vibrates every hour and reminds me to be aware) but I forget or fail to think about dreams shortly before I fall asleep or before I go to bed.
I think this is mainly because I spend pretty much every night with my girlfriend. Whenever we're together, I'll usually forget to keep doing reality checks at some point late in the evening or from time to time. Also, when I finally go to bed which is almost never earlier than 2 AM in the morning (because my work shifts are from 3 to 12 PM) I either fall asleep way too fast to focus on dreaming or just get distracted and forget.
Something similar then happens in the morning - I'll wake up and instead of remembering to lay still and focus on recalling last night's dreams, I get distracted by something or forget. I don't want to wake up with an alarm and set a reminder about it because I found it hurts my dream recall even more. Guess I really have to focus on remembering to remember ( :D ) first thing in the morning. Also, I heard weed doesn't help at all with lucid dreaming and that's a regular habit of mine.
I should probably open another thread on here to track my progress and get more opinions on how and what to do better from you guys. I'm sure I'll get to that soon.
Thanks for saying hi, guys! = )
