(Re)Introduction
Hello all,
Its been a while since last I posted on these forums, so I figure I'd reintroduce myself. I'm a 38 year old lucid dreamer, who got into lucid dreaming just over 20 years back. Or maybe sooner: as a child I learned to wake myself up from bad dreams. Several years later, as a teenager, I stumbled upon an article about lucid dreaming by accident and recognised parts of it from my own experiences. I began to experiments with the techniques described there, and well... I've been hooked ever since.
My lucidity spells and the attention I've given to my dreams have been on and off during my life, with periods of lucid dreaming nightly, to periods of only basic awareness for months at a time. I've recently decided to invest more time and attention again, which brings me here (for the third time now).
I mostly use lucid dreams for their entertainment and relaxation value: interacting with dream characters, setting up scenes, trying out new ways of dream control, or simply trying to dream awesome experiences (music being one of my favorites... listening to music in my dreams is just total rapture). Additionally, over the years I've also learned to use anything that frightens me or frustrates me as a dream cue to become lucid. Consequently, I can't remember the last time I even had a nightmare. Other dream cues tend to be general things, like teeth being loose, lights not turning on, or reading being frustrating to impossible, as well as personal dream cues (for some reason one particular place I used to live as a child always makes me lucid).
That's about enough of my ramblings. I look forward to learning from you all once more, and hopefully be able to help a few people with my own opinions and personal insights in the bargain.
Read you soon!
