Hello :')
Hello everyone! My name is Matija. I'm from a small town called Bacevac in Croatia. It's really awesome place to live in. People are happy and funny and helpful :)
But enough of that, let's talk lucid :)
So i've heard about lucid dreaming like 4-5 weeks ago and i started trying to achieve it since the first day. I was trying with the WILD. But it never acctually worked. Now i was reading some stuff and people say it's good to have dream journal? So is that dream journal like required? because i'd feel a bit weird if my parents would ever read what would be written in there :D
But yeah, i've seen the new tecnique i'm going to use tonight! FILD. Seems amazing to me and I shall try it tonight. Wish me luck! And also, if you have tips for me as a beginner please do say some to me it really helps me out. Thanks in advance!
Kind Regards,
Matija.

Welcome Matija! Bacevac sounds like a great place to live! :)
About lucid dreaming, you would definitely need to keep some sort of notes, and yes, these are best organized in a dream journal. It's much easier to keep track of what's going on in one's dreams, identify dream signs and help you see how much you've developed over time.
We even have online dream journals here. Sure, it's a bit frustrating to have people see all you dreams but you don't need to write everything in there or in your own dream journal at home if privacy is one of your concerns.
Good luck with FILD and be sure to check out the various induction techniques below.

Welcome to dreamviews Matija! :)
If you really don't want to have a dream journal, you can also lie in bed when you wake up and think about your dreams, trying to remember them in as great of detail as you can.

Hello! Welcome to DV! I have heard so many good things about Croatia. One of my favorite YouTubers is from there. :)
I hope you enjoy exploring the forum, some of the best places are generally Stickied at the top of each subforum.
Here are some fun threads to get you started. :)

Good luck with the new technique!
Are you just trying night time induction at the moment, or are you incorporating daytime practices as well? For example, doing reality checks as often as you remember throughout the day can greatly increase your chances of having a DILD, even if you miss the opportunity to WILD that night.
The DV dream journals also have a private setting if you prefer - just check the box that sets the visibility to moderators only.
I personally didn't keep a DJ when I first started lucid dreaming, although I did talk with my parter first thing in the morning about my dreams, so it was kind of like an audio DJ I guess. :)
However, even as a more experienced LDer now, I do keep a written DJ and find it helps a lot with my recall and recognising dream signs (which can help induce further LDs).
It will definitely give you a leg up if you can find a way that's comfortable for you.
