It's not like i don't have friends in real life, I have heaps, but just say in a lucid dream you talk to some guy on the street, get to know him/her, and get his/her name and stuff, can you talk to him/her and he/she will remember you and the conversations you've had in previous lucid dreams?
Put simply: Can you make friends in your dream world?
Absolutely.
If you are able to take it seriously, and tell yourself that your DC's are completely seperate personas from your own, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to interract with them as if they were completely different people. You could incubate a friend into your dreams based off of someone in waking life if you wished to, as long as you were able to keep reminding yourself that "this is a completely different consciousness in my mind" so much that your own conscious influence practically disappears.

One more question do you have increased strength and skill in LD? For instance a kid could weild himself a nice Giant Ray Gun ... *Looks around laughing deviotly to himself* Ooo one more lol sorry about this but I'm a major nooblet: Just say theres someone you really don't like and I mean REALLY don't like, can you "{summon" them and "Ray Gun" them and make them respawn? I know you shouldnt use your LD's for releiving anger at someone but meh. :mrgreen:
