All tied up

For starters, hi everyone, I had my first lucid dream about a year ago by complete chance having no idea what one was. Since then I've done a fair amount of reading on the subject and I've had some success in getting more dreams. However, I have had semi recurring issue where I am bound up, generally by my blankets. As I try to pull them away from myself they simply seem to endlessly unravel. I have also had other objects, my matress, a book shelf, and other odd items get stuck to me and I'm unable to pull them off. I've also tried sleeping with a sleep mask on, only to awaken in my dream still wearing it and again unable to remove it.

The other day I had a series of dreams, probably 8 or so all right in a row where I was eventually able to get to a mirror and upon looking at myself I was able to gain some clarity, all be it short lived after looking away from the mirror.

However, the last dream I had was probably the oddest one I've had yet. I woke and was completely unable to move, sleep paralysis, although I've never experienced it before. But here's the catch, upon some struggle ( I couldn't tell if I was dreaming or not my vision was obscured by my blankets ) I felt my legs fall to the floor, through my bed, and I was able to get up and walk around. But my vision and physical self never left the bed! It was as if I was in control of and able to feel and move about in some invisible avatar while the rest of me was stuck in bed. I returned a few times to try to reconnect with my body but my avatar seemed to simply pass through myself and the bed like it wasn't there.

I'd say you are having OBE (out of body experience) similar to astral projection. Keep at it and try to control it even more. Try to leave the room, go somewhere else. I wouldn't worry too much about returning to your body, that's its natural state and when you need to "wake up" you can probably return with ease. I've been trying to have an OBE for years, but I haven't had a story like that.

Yeah that's what I sort of thought other then the vision problem. My vision stayed completely stationary at my body, as I said partially blocked due to blankets, but all of my other senses where with my avatar. It was an odd experience.
