Robin :)
Just wanted to say Hello to you all!
My name is Robin, i am 24 years old :)
I got to know about Lucid Dream last night, and i have been researching and even contacted my doctor. (I contacted my doctor to make sure this is 100% safe and wont damage me) (Wich she said "Sp is totally safe and lucid is natural"
Hopefully it will happen tonigh, if not, well then ill keep trying. I have nothing to waste :)
Only thing is i got difficulty to fall asleep when i just woke up. Hopefully i'll be able to be up for 5-10 min and go straight back to bed with a LD in my mind :P
Anyway! When my first LD happens, i will say so in this topic :)
Thanks!
Enjoy and happy dreaming!

Welcome to the forum!
Lucid dreaming is definitely 100% safe - it's the same as regular dreaming, except that you know that you're dreaming. And what most people call "SP" is actually REM Atonia, a completely safe and normal thing that happens every night, whether you're aware of it or not. So there's really nothing to be afraid of.
Let us know if you have any questions, and feel free to check us out in the IRC chat.

Haha, ya my dad was worried if LD would be harmful to me too when i was telling him im trying to purposefully induce it :rolllaugh:. For the not falling asleep part, exercise in the day helps make you tired, so that's always good :D you could also try horlicks an hour or two before bed, it always makes me tired. From one newbie to another, i hope you LD as soon as possible, i wish everyone could, its such an amazing experience!!!

Hey there, and welcome to the forums! I hope that you're able to have a lucid dream soon, but remember not to get frustrated if you don't have it and that persistence is one of your fundamental keys.
Now, I can relate a lot to having trouble falling asleep when you're waking up. It is hard--and, unfortunately, one of the best ways to have a lucid dream. When you first wake up it's important that you write down something about whatever you dreamed though, so I suggest writing down just a few things from your dream that will help you jog your memory (e.g., little ball bouncing, seen black cat, dude was driving) for when you're fully awake and so you can write a more detailed entry later. Don't get out of bed unless you just absolutely have to, because that will only serve to wake you up more (and thus make it harder to go to sleep)! Also, if light is one of your biggest problems, then get a sleep mask.
Oh! And set your alarm for about three hours after you know you will fall asleep. It's much easier to go back to sleep when you haven't had six or over hours! ^_^
