I've decided to take this more seriously

I got lucid dreaming at my first attempt in 2011, at Christmas, and I haven't developed almost anything at all. Recently I had an Out of Body Experience (OBE), my second one ever. I only got WILD once and almost all my dreams are DILD, induced by RCs. I know the basics very well but I have a messed up sleep schedule.
Thing is, damn, I want to know how to control the dreams. I've had a daily lucid dream for like 2 years now and I often wake up after 1-2 minutes, with no control whatsoever.
I made this account to force myself to take it seriously. I'll ask around the problems I have, maybe I'll post my own dreams here sometimes, and I hope I get good advice.
The thing that bothers me the most is the fact that, often, when I become lucid, my body seems harder and harder to move around, to the point I get paralyzed in the dream. Any tips? Also, I guess I obsess myself with controlling the dream and I don't interact much with stuff. Whatever, this is just a presentation post, enough of my problems.

I hope this forum helps me with stuff, and I hope I can help someone with basic stuff too.

      to DreamViews, Verde!

Maybe you can start by just observing the dream, instead of trying to control. When you are calm, it may be easier to make it last longer. KNOW that you can have long LDs and you wake up only when you are ready to wake up. Then you will have more time to experiment with controlling the dream. Controlling the dream is more about expecting or KNOWING that something is certain way. Don't try to change something, rather "see it" as it is the way you want it to be.

About DILDs - It's easier to get lucid towards the end of a sleep cycle, when REM is ending. Simply because our mind is already preparing to wake up and that bit of awareness can get us lucid. It's is not like that all the time, ofc. But when a LD ends because REM ended, you can wait patiently for the next REM to start. Stay calm, stay aware that you are asleep and think of a next dream. If you already slept for at least 5-6 hrs, next REM should come within seconds and you can enter next dream while aware, having a DEILD (Dream Exit LD).

      Happy dreams

I want to try to perform WILD, but reading all those posts about it still leave me a little bit confused: When should I wake up? I mean, I know I should start being aware about 20 minutes before the following REM cycle so I can hallucinate while being aware and jump onto the dream (I got it once by pure luck), but... when is that moment? When should I try my chances?

If you slept for some hours already before the WILD attempt, then after a brief WBTB - Wake, back to bed, the next REM will be coming soon, after a short falling asleep period. This falling asleep stage is very light sleep, when we are already asleep but we could swear we are still awake.

Now if you tried to WILD without prior sleep, then REM would be about 80 min away, till you go through falling asleep, deep sleep and other stages. But with prior sleep (4.5 and more hours), we go almost straight to REM. This is valid for a morning nap or even later nap. But if a nap is close to your normal bed time (like a late afternoon snooze), we go through all the sleep stages again - 80 min nREM, 10 min REM. But longer we sleep, shorter the nREM and longer the REM.

Thats why WILD and WBTB go hand in hand.

I guess having daily lucid dreams already are a good start. It shouldn't be too difficult to gain better dream control from there. At least you get a daily chance to practice good luck!
      - messed up sleep schedule is a thing for me too btw

I don't have vivid dreams when either I've ingested alcohol or if the last thing I did before sleep time was watching a screen. So I haven't done any progress. Also, heat is very strong in Spain where I live and it's so hard to fall asleep and perform WILD. I've done some DEILD stuff though but I couldn't succeed in my WILD attempt, not even close
