New Dreamer
Hi all. Been an on-off lucid dreamer for decades, but just recently I've begun really putting in the effort to have them regularly and at will. It's a lot of work it turns out! As nothing good comes free, this is to be expected. Looking forward to sharing techniques and adventures with other lucid dreamers. Paul

Welcome to the forum!
It can definitely seem like lucid dreaming is a lot of work, but try not to see it as something difficult you have drudge through to get to the end. Instead, enjoy the journey - celebrate every bit of progress no matter how little, and learn to appreciate even the non-lucid dreams as they get longer and more vivid. Having that attitude can keep you from getting frustrated and burning out.
Anyway, let us know if you have any other questions, and feel free to stop by the IRC chat.

Thank you for the uplifting advice! Yes, I've definitely noticed progress since I started keeping a DJ. And the other night I had a very long and vivid LD using the FILD method after journaling 18 recalled dreams and 1 false awakening (in 15 day time span). This progress was what really prompted me to join an online dream forum/community and step everything up a notch! I'll be sure to see you guys on chat. Thanks!
