      Hey Everyone!

I am new to the forum and I wanted to introduce myself!
My name is Kelly , and I am from South Carolina , USA. I found this site while searching for information about astral projection and lucid dreaming. I have had this ability for several years and it just happened one night and caught me completely by surprise.
Now , however , it has turned into nightmares sometimes. It scares me a lot ( I have never really had nightmares , even as a child ). I am fully aware that I am dreaming and have actually seen myself laying in the bed while walking around! I know it sounds insane , but it's completely true! I am hoping to hear other people's accounts of this so I will feel somewhat better. I never tried to do the " astral projection " thing and never even thought anything about it...it just happens to me.
I look forward to meeting you guys and comparing experiences!

Welcome to the forum! One thing you'll quickly find out around here is that nothing related to dreams is "insane" to us - we all know dreams are super weird and sometimes make no sense, but that's why we love 'em.

Fortunately, if you're having nightmares, practicing lucidity is one of the best things you can do to combat them. Once you realize it's a dream and that nothing can hurt you, you can at the very least make yourself wake up, or at the very most confront the dream itself as to why you're having the nightmare in the first place.

Anyway, let us know if you have any questions, and feel free to check us out in the IRC chat.
