hello NEW USER INTRO
hello guys,
my name is james and am 27 years old. i have experienced sp now for a few years and always found it extremely frightening. however after learning about ld and just trying to relax and go with the flow i found my self actually controlling my dream, i am so fascinated by this i really love it.
Everytime i start to ld though i literally fly to the front door (or walk) at my flat and then boom, i wake up. literally 30 seconds lucid!! :-(
Does any one here have anytips that may help me stay lucid for longer?
Also any tips to help me induce a ld or even sp because i have only ever gone lucid as the result of calming down during sp........i would be very greatful.
MY sp seems to only happen when falling asleep or very early into falling asleep, i dont seem to get it as late as most research online suggests.
Anyway was just introducing myself and a bit of my story.....hope everyones cool, happy lucidity guys x[/B]

Hey, welcome to the forum. I'm a bit drunk, so you'll have to excuse me a bit, but for some reason I thought "27? Man he's a bit old", only to realize just after I'm 25, so that's not old anymore, lol. Anyway, It's great you've already had some LDs before showing up here. If you find yourself still experiencing SP, that can actually be a great help in getting lucid dreams if a technique I'll outline a bit further down that I use works for you.
In any case, do you know anything about different technique names, like DILD and WILD? If you wouldn't mind, outline what you already know so I know where to start.
As far as a technique for transitioning from SP into a WILD goes, back when I first started LDing I got in SP and was wondering how to transition from it to a dream (most people have a hard time at this part). I had a random idea I decided to try out right there, and it worked! I imagined, or rather fully "believed" that a vortex/black hole was behind my head, and that it would suck me up. I also believed or kind of just "knew" that once I was fully sucked up, I would wind up in a dream after that. I was sucked up within a second or two and found myself in a dream. I've used it many, many times ever since, sometimes varying it with having the vortex appear by my feet, and I can't think of a single time it hasn't worked. It's literally the only thing to do with LDing that I've had a 100% success rate with (or if I have failed before, I don't remember failing... which is entirely possible I suppose). If you find yourself in SP again, give it a try.

Welcome to the forum! Don't worry, age is not an issue around here, we have members of all ages. And though it's supposedly easier to learn lucid dreaming when you're younger, there's no age limit for being able to learn - as long as you have dreams, you can have a lucid dream.
Let us know if you have any questions, and feel free to stop by the IRC chat.
