Help with dreaming
Hello,
I'm Caleb. This is my first post here on the forum. I really, really want to lucid dream, but I don't have the time for WILD, neither can I dream for DILD, as I slip into a deep sleep rather quickly.
Can anyone help with me dreaming?
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum!
What have you tried so far with lucid dreaming, and how long have you been trying it? That would give us a better understanding of where you're at so we can help you. I would also recommend having a good base of dream recall before attempting any LD technique, as you can't very well remember lucid dreams if you're not remembering normal dreams. Having a dream journal and writing down anything you can remember is a good start.

I heard of LD about a year ago, and have been trying it ever since. mainly trial-and-error though. And when I sleep, all I see/remember is darkness. Very rarely do I actually have a dream (or any color, even, other than black) that I see. I'll try the dream journal; any other tips?
Thanks!

In that case, improving your recall is definitely the first step you want to take. The problem isn't that you're not having dreams - the problem is that you're not remembering your dreams. Everyone dreams multiple times every night, but we don't always remember them when we do.
The best way to improve it is to start a dream journal - you can use DV's DJ feature, or there are a ton of smartphone apps as well, but usually a pen and paper notebook is the best way. Then, whenever you wake up in the morning, write down in it - even if you don't remember anything, just write down whatever emotion you currently feel, or maybe a dream you'd like to have. By consistently writing in it, you train your brain to see dreams as important, making them easier to remember over time. You can also set an intention to recall your dreams by reminding yourself throughout the day that "I will remember my dreams".
It can be a bit boring at first, but as you begin to remember more and more, you'll be encouraged by watching the length of your DJ entries increase. Once you are remembering about one dream per night, you should be better equipped to try out some LD techniques.

Ok! Thanks for the help. Hopefully, in about a month, I'll be LD.
Again, thanks. Your help is much appreciated.

No problem! If you have any other questions, feel free to let us know here, or swing by the IRC chat.

All right.
Plan for tonight: Realize I'm dreaming.
And write how I'm feeling in the morning.
Also, does doing this interrupt my circadian rhythm? I don't want to try this, then realize that if I wake up in the middle of the night, I can't fall back asleep.

Alright then. I tried to remember my dreams.... and was partially successful. I do remember a few flashes of color, and when I woke up this morning, i felt something that I normally don't feel in the morning.... Boredom. Usually I'm wiping tears out of my eyes, but this is new. And may be promising. Maybe I can remember something other than a few flashes of color tonight.
