      Hello

I've had a rough time last year and now I'm working on myself to get better I've come across this forum, hoping to learn from you all. I can't control my dreams yet I did try a few years ago since then I've had too many distractions and up and down emotionally. I'm drawn to something inside me but don't understand it properly. I can just feel it is the next step for me no one around me friends or family feel the same so it's been hard to get my head around on my own I'm so happy to find people sharing their experiences I find it fascinating to read I did lucid dream as a child I remember good and bad dreams I used to jump down the stairs to wake up it's an experience I want to be able to have again but fully control and understand it thank you 🙂

      Hey! Welcome to DV!

First off, I'm sorry to hear you've had a rough time.

That thing inside you that you feel drawn to. Follow it.
I found enlightenment by following that feeling.
You might find that, or you might find something else.
But it's always good to follow your inner guidance.

In the mean time, I hope you enjoy your stay here!
Don't hesitate to ask questions on the forum!

Thank you 😊 I have lots of practicing to do as I can't stop myself falling asleep at the moment, how does the R.E.M. cycles work? How do I know when mine starts and will it always be the same time for rest of my life and even if in different time zone?

      Welcome Sugarplumb!

REM is part of a 90 minute cycle. Useful REM periods in terms of time after sleep include 4hrs 30, 6hrs and 7 hrs 30 (of course, these times are not exact)
These times are especially useful for the WBTB technique.

      Enjoy your stay here.

Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic.

Hi and welcome! If you have any more questions like the REM one (which naturespirit answered well already, watch out not to make things too complicated for there are tons of information, guides, techniques and methods out here stick to the basics and keep it simple haha ) you can ask them at the Lucid Dreaming section of the forum!

Lucids to you and see you around ~

Indeed. When you wake up in the morning, you've got around maybe 4-5 hours that you can go back to sleep and go straight into REM.
This means that you can WILD on naps, just like a WBTB (Wake Back To Bed).

Note that you generally can't do WILD at night when you go to bed, because you won't go straight into REM, you will go straight into deep sleep.
