      Red face Good night!

      Hello everyone!
      I am glad to be here with you, since my first learning about the possibility of lucid dreams eight years ago, I have been on and off this subject quite a lot. I have had over 30 lucid dreams in these 8 years, and at times I tried really hard. But because of my messed up psyche and different mental blocks I wasn't really successful in this art.

      Now I decided to commit to mastering lucid dreaming, I want to use it to bring peace into my mind. Really got tired of being torn by childhood traumas, fears and the like.

      I have very vivid imagination, that helps and hinders at the same time. When I think about possibilities of lucid dreams I start making it so cool that I don't believe it's possible for me, because it doesn't click with my poor self-image I suppose. I can lie without moving for 2-3 hours, yes, without moving even a finger, but I only 3-4 times was able to go WILD, and whenever I am in a lucid dream usually it's so real that there is no distinction from reality, only did some telekinesis a couple of times....

      Anyway, I want to master this skill, and if anybody can do it, I believe I can do it, and if I can do it, I can learn to do it better. I am also a programmer I developed a little software for Windows to help myself with analyzing dreams, currently I use it to record them, but I am going to lead a dream journal here too. I want to be involved and help this community as I become better, so I'll try to contribute.

      Hello there and welcome.

      I would firstly say: Do not fear how your self-image appears. Simply remember that in a dreaming context, you don't have to be "you", if that's what you want or would like. If you get lucid, you get a choice into something as "basic" as how you look, and it doesn't have to be a decisive commitment, you can just try something different for a while.

      If you struggle to let go of doubts, you can let go of them by simply assuring yourself that the context of dreaming is completely different to the waking context, not to mention it is entirely personal and private (unless if you choose for it not to be, of course).

      Just out of curiosity, what language did you develop your program in?

      As my lucid dreams are too down to earth I think I'll have to struggle awhile with letting go of my self-image, though it's okay, I am willing to do whatever it takes to master this skill.

      It's written with C#, I also have an app for Android made following Stephen LaBerge's ETWLD, but it is too complex I think so I removed it for a while from Google Play, I thought about remaking it but decided to gain some mastery on my dreams first.
