Trying It Again
Hello all! I learned about LD several years ago. I read a couple of books back then and tried for a few months to induce an LD. I practiced RCs for a while but was never very consistent with them and, of course, didn’t have any success. I kept a dream journal back then and I do know my dream types and dream signs. I had an LD once but it was barely one. I was in a scary situation in the dream and said “This is just a dream so I’ll wake up...”.
Anyway, I’ve decided I really want to get back into it and I’m determined to be more committed to getting there this time. I’ve been reading some of the posts and found some really good info so far. I’ll keep you posted!

Best of luck! I've decided to start the journey, too.
Here's one thing you can do to make reality checks easier to keep up with. Pair them with something you already do on the regular. Check your watch a lot? Take the opportunity to do a hand related check. Spend time on your phone? Check the time and see if it makes sense.
This technique works for other habits and rituals, too. Let us know how things go!

Hey EarlyMan, welcome to the forums! It's good to hear you're giving it a second go. I started recently myself and have had some success with getting lucid which I attribute mostly to daily reading and thinking regularly about it. There are some great books out there that can be helpful if you're interested in any recommendations.
Kezune's advice for RCing is very good. I would like to add to perform RCs during any point throughout your waking experience that seems in the least bit dreamlike, strange, or odd.
Good luck with your lucid dreaming journey.
