      morning dream recall

In the mornings I use an alarm clock to wake up for school. As the alarm clock is a somewhat loud noice, I wake up very quickly get over to it and turn it off (it's not beside my bed). Does anyone have suggestions on what to do so that I might be able to lie in bed when I wake up rather than instantly waking?

maybe a silly question...but is it possible to move the alarm so it IS next to your bed? and could you turn it down so that it wakes you up gently instead of abruptly? you could also try getting someone to wake you up so you don't have to move (if you don't mind someone coming in to your bedroom) other than that i would just try to get back into the position you were in when you woke and try to remember the way you felt BEFORE the stupid alarm went off
      question EVERYTHING

      Hi and welcome,

I don' knwo whether you use it, but I used the alarm of my cell phone, since the set up of its sound can be tuned in a gentle sound or vibration.

Or just before falling asleep you could softly say to you that you'll wake up five minutes before your alarm clock goes on: usually when I tell myself to wake up at a certain time, I do it.

It seems that the best thing to do is to move the alarm clock next to your bed. When it goes off, hit snooze, and try to recall you dreams untill the alarm sounds again. Wirte yoru dreams down and then get uup so you are not late

      Welcome to DV kurt!

I used to have an alarm clock/radio that I could set so that the alarm sound was the classical station. Then I had it right by my bed and I would gradually wake up by hitting snooze. You have to set it early though. Then if that's to quiet for you, you'll need your loud alarm set as a back up

I deliberately set my alarm a quarter of an hour before i actually have to be up. That means, even though i am jolted awake, i can lie there for a bit piecing things together.
Try that, it works for me.
