Suggestions?
Hey, I just found out about LDing about 4 days ago and the first day I tried doing an LD I succeeded and now I can remember most of the dreams I have one night but I can't seem to become lucid. Last night I tried WBTB method but I think I messed it up since I just played a game for 3 hours and went back to bed. I didn't try very hard. But what else can I try to improve my chances of becomming lucid? I tell myself "I will have lucid dreams" before I go to sleep and try to think about it untill I slip away but still I just dream and not become lucid. I don't know why it worked the first day and not these past ones.

Hey there Ian. Welcome to the site, and congrats on your first LD! :D
The main thing is to keep trying, have confidence, and don't get discouraged. Sometimes you just won't have LDs no matter what you try, and other times they'll happen for seemingly no reason.
I would suggest that you keep working with the methods you are using, MILD and WBTB -- they seem to work for the most number of people, including me. But you're right -- staying up 3 hours playing games is not the way to do it. You should only stay up 30-60 minutes, and during that time do something to keep your mind on dreaming, like writing in your journal, or reading the DV forums.

Also, try not to think about it too much. I know that sounds like the total opposite of what Tygrhawk just said, but what i mean by that is, if you think about it 24/7, it can be that you're trying too hard, and putting too much pressure on yourself.
You have to sort of consider it in a 'detached' way, but still perform reality checks in a confident manner, and be sure that you can have lucid dreams when you fall asleep.
I find that i have them spontaneously without really thinking about it...then again, i don't have them that often...maybe one every couple of months...but my non lucids keep me entertained.
