Complete Beginner
Hey, I have stumbled upon this website yesterday and began reading and I am extremely interested in Lucid Dreaming. I am a sophomore in High School and I love my dreams. Some nights I remember many of them, other nights none. I am just curious as to what the first step(s) I should take is. I am working on improving my recall and have started a journal. Help would be appreciated greatly.

Welcome to Dream Views LoneWookie :) I am a Snior in highschool, and I joined DV when I was a sophmore, so its funny too see someone from sophmore year joining like how I was... okay yea , anwyas :P Wrighting down you dreams is an excelent first step. Just keep doing that and in a week or so you will find that you can remember about 3 dreams per night. After you reach up to that point start doing reality checks. theres a whole section of them in the tutoprial; section. have fun and PM me if you wnat if you need any individual help ;)

Alright, Last night was my first night working on dream recall. Before I fell asleep I repeated in my head "I will awake from my dreams and completely remember them" I believed that I would wake up from my dreams and remember them. I slowly began to fall asleep.
Sometime when it was still dark out, I woke up almost immediately after having a dream. I used the little light that was coming in through my window to write it in my journal. Then I went back to sleep.
Again, When It was dark outside, I awoke after having a dream. I wrote this one down and tried to fall back asleep. It was hard though, because I was very excited at what was happening and also had had a sore throat, So I was quite restless and eventually fell asleep.
The third time it was light outside. I used the light to my advantage and wrote the dream that I just had in as much detail as I could. Then I decided to get up and get something to drink because of my throat.
And here I am, I am really amazed at what happened, because I almost never wake up at night. :D

What i would recommend is for you to experience/practice WILDs for the first time (any form of it.) Ever since i had my first it seemed like i just got better and better at lucid dreams, and 3 months later here i am having excellent recall, and atleast 1 lucid every 2 nights :D

Welcome LoneWookie.
Sounds like your off to a good start with your dream journal. Keep it up. Like anything else in life....the more you practice...the better you'll get.
Good luck with your dreams.
Have some good ones.
