First lucid dream with alot of spinning

There are so many threads like this one and alot of people probably find them very boring and this one is probably no exception but anyway, if someone reads this and answers it would be cool.

For the last say, maybe 3 weeks i have been kinda half-trying to get lucid dreams every now and then but not really putting any real effort into it. Not that i dont find lucid dreaming interesting enough but i guess im just lazy. Anyway this past night i was not thinking about lucid dreaming nor did i try to achieve one but as i woke up in the morning and then decided i needed some more sleep i slipped into a regular dream at first in wich i after some time realised that i was dreaming. When i realised it i felt some strange feeling, very hard to describe. Anyway, i then tried the spinning method as i've read about and wow, just the spinning felt very cool haha. But when done spinning i still couldn't really see anything, everything just felt weird. But after a couple of spinning around's it got better. The last time i spun around i remember thinking: damn, i hope nobody comes into my room now while im spinning around with my arms stretched out, that would look silly =) it felt so real but still i "knew" i was dreaming.

Well, after done spinning i now ended up in my livingroom and everything felt real just a little bit blurry or so. But now i was lucid (i guess?) I remember walking around in my house, then looking down at my legs thinking my pants looked liked they do in real life and then i met my mother and she asked me what i was doing and why i was so weird and this is were i got a bit scared/excitied so i woke up =/ I was still very excited about it all after i woke up. The lucid part in the dream felt only like 20-30 seconds though but still it was cool hehe.

Now i wonder, am i close to having longer and better lucid dreams? did your first lucid dream felt anything alike this or so?

Btw, it's because of the great movie Waking Life i started reading about lucid dreams on the net and eventually trying to have them. This seems to be a great forum with a lot of information, take care.

hey, hdron welcome to Dream Views. I'm glad you like the site. I saw Waking Life before, many people here love it. I thought it was OK. I need to re-watch it. Anyway, It sounds like you had fun in your Lucid Dream and the level of Lucidity was somewhat high. I could mean you are going to start having longer and better Lucid Dreams, you just need to see if this happens often enough. IF ti does, then that's wonderful. You should try some of the methods we have in the tutorial because they can so greatly improve your chance of having LDs. Good Luck! Thanks =) I did not have that much time doing anything fun in my lucid dream as it was very short but it sure was a nice experience. Yeah, i checked out the tutorial section, alot of good information and im gonna start taking this thing more seriously soon and really follow the steps trying to become lucid more often. I hope it will turn out good...

Hey there hdron! Welcome to DV!

Spinning can help increase your awareness in the dream, but it can also be used as a spring-board for other ways of controlling the dream. In all honesty, all of my dreams have been fairly short, but they're all worth it. In fact, in my last LD, I saw Aslan from the Chronicles of Narnia, and since I had been hoping for the experience, even though I was lucid I had no desire to do anything else.

If you put some effort into it, you'll be having LDs in no time! Sweet lucid dreams!

      Hey again =)

Two nights ago i tried become lucid with the help of this mp3 file http://www.interstellarwarfare.com/pizo/LucidRemix.mp3 but without any luck cuz i couldn't sleep while it was playing but this past night i managed to wake up after having slept for like 5-6 hours, i then went to the bathroom and then back to sleep with the mp3 file playing in my headphones and i fell asleep after about one hour and got lucid. This was my second lucid dream, too bad this one was also very short but still exciting though.

But something felt very strange this time. I got lucid and in my dream i was laying in my bed as i did in real life so i decided to do a reality check, i squeezed my nose and i still could breath so yeah, i was lucid. So now i wanted to get out of bed and do some cool things but i just couldn't get out of bed! It felt like the gravity was x10 or something. I tried getting out of bed a couple of times but couldn't so i woke up =/

Anyone knows what im talking about, is this common? Damn, i thought that if you get lucid you can do pretty much whatever you want but i couldn't even get out of the bed haha. Any thoughts of why?

I used the mp3 file again and got two lucid dreams this night, i really recommend trying that file =) The first one started of exactly the same as the lucid dream i had yesterday with me laying in my bed not being able to get up! this is getting frustrating, i want to get up from bed and start exploring!

Someone please help me, why can't i get up from bed? I find it very strange since i am completely lucid and everything is very clear and i keep laying there doing reality checks and stuff...but i just cant get out of the bed like some powerfull force holds me back haha.

Well, later on i did get another lucid dream and in this one i could do pretty much anything i wanted but this dream didn't feel as strong as the "stuck in bed" dream. This second dream felt kinda weak and colorless and when i think of it i think everything was black and white. Well, i'm still happy just to be able to become lucid so it's great but i'm gonna keep on trying to get more out of my lucid dreams.

Any comments on the stuck in bed thing or the colorless dream is appreciated.

      Dream on =)
